Wow!!! I'm impressed!!! You're pretty handy!! Did you come up with that on your own or did you use plans? The chicks should be pretty happy in that!!

Jessica, I LOVE your pink coop. You did such a great job on it. The chicks are so cute. Lots of people in Austin have a few chickens in the backyard. I'm really impressed with your coop!

Guys don't give me credit I didn't do much but tell him what I wanted. My kids and the neighborhood kids helped with the painting.
No plans, his a handy man and was able to put things together. I'm so glad you like my coop. I'm the only one in my neighborhood with chickens |

Great job!!! Love the coop! Fresh eggs everyday.. little jealous here..
My neighbors have a few chickens. "Had' a rooster that crowed very early in the mornings.. last few weeks haven't heard the crowing, so must have got rid of the rooster. Still have the chickens. You are lucky to have a handyman. I could use one of those too! Have a few projects going on this summer that I dread doing by myself.. but will get done.. |

Here's another one of our projects. I have been wanting a garden for a while now. Of course I'm clueless. I do have a space in between my garage and my front door where i can look through my kitchen window.
I brought blackberries, cantaloup, cucumbers, red and green bell peppers, onion, corns, hot peppers, jalapenos, regular tomatoes, purple tomatoes, grape tomatoes, spinach, apple mint, chocolate mint, 2 types of parsely, oregano, thyme, mexican terragano, cilantro, and I might be missing a couple more. I do want potatoes and carrots but there's no room. I'm going to wait till they all grow. Here's to my first try in gardening. |

Wow! You'll have fun with the garden. With such a variety of things, you'll find out what grows well and what doesn't. Good luck!

What a cute garden...you'll have plenty of produce won't you? I really wish we could have another garden. Just don't know if I'm ready to do all the work...lol

Nice little garden!! I've been trying to get Glen to make me a raised bed here close to the house. We have a huge garden but it's quite a ways from the house and not very convenient. I love just stepping out the door and picking a few things for supper!! Good luck with the chickens and garden!! Keep us posted on how they all do!!
We had a couple of roosters through the winter and they crowed ALL the time!! You could hear them in the middle of the night!! Plus they were mean!! When the last one disappeared Dae Lynn accused me of shooting it because it had been going after the kids and I was threatening to kill it.

That is too funny. Only one of my chickens is scared of me (or any human). The others like to be petted. I do hope my garden grows. If anything my herbs. I always buy herbs and they go bad after a few day's. I'm hoping with my garden I just pick what I need and the rest can keep growing. |

Jessica, herbs are the easiest to grow, you'll be giving them away they will grow so well. I've had great luck with rosemary, basil, thyme, and oregano. You can grow cilantro but only when the weather is cool, it won't grow in heat. In Houston you should be able to grow it almost all winter.
