Found Dog

Hope I can get advice from here. My family found a dog and we have been trying to look for his owners to no avail. We have put posters out and I have browsed shelters to see if anyone has posted a lost dog. Any more advise on what I should do?

Call your local radio station ~ ours will report lost and found pets.
Take dog to vet to check for a chip.
Call area vets ~ they might recognize dog.
Put ad in newspaper
If you belong to Facebook, put on there that you found dog and ask people to share.
Facebook also usually has lost/found pages to report found dog.
Craigslist.
Local groomers might know this dog also...

Keep some information back so that true owner can claim. Lots of crooks out there who would take to sell or use for bait dog... bad stories I have heard.
Ask for pictures of dog and vet records from owner to make sure it is truly their dog.

Thank you and your family for helping this lost pup out!
Good luck and I pray he/she will be back in their home soon!!!

Great info, thank you so much.

Hopefully someone is missing their dog. I have also browsed the neighborhood searching for ads of missing dogs but unfortunately not the right fluff.
