Very Anxious
I am so anxious for my Emilee have her litter. She is due March 1 and already has a little belly on her. She was an excellent mother the first time, so loving and attentive, but would let us do whatever needed done. Such a sweetheart.
Her first whelping was such an easy one for her (and for me.) I was just so proud of her. I want the pitter patter of little feet again. I already have 3 people wanting puppies. Now, I know they can change their minds, plus I have had quite a few inquiries from YT people interested to see if I had puppies. That makes me feel very proud of the way I'm raising healthy dogs. I know Emilee isn't the standard color, but she (and Joey) have such beautiful thick coats and they passed them on to their puppies. Out of four (females) I only had one that looks identical to Emilee and I had a friend who wanted exactly that. She ended up weighing 4 lbs 12 ozs. Izzie was the chocolate born and ended up weighing 3 lbs 10 ozs I think or close to it. The other two turned out black/blue and gold, weighing 5.5 lbs and 4 lbs. I am just so excited and anxious to see how many and what these babies will look like. I just wanted to share my excitement.... I may copy this and put it on YT...I'll probably get blasted for breeding them again since there was a chocolate born in the litter. If, by chance, another chocolate is born, then I will be thinking of having Emilee spayed. It just depends.

Janet, I think it's great you can do something you're so passionate about!
I'm not knowledgeable about Yorkies, but I used to breed horses and German Shepherds, and know there are colors in those too that are NOT acceptable, so I kinda know what you're saying. The thing is, not everyone is interested in breeding or showing, so for those who just want a pet to love, your chocolate pups might be the most beautiful things they've ever seen! The absolutely best foal we ever had conformation-wise was a cream quarter horse. She was show quality (other than color) and had the thickest most gorgeous main and tail I've ever seen. Her temperment and trainability were fantastic. Because she was cream colored, she couldn't be registered or shown, etc... yet she became a family horse that was absolutely cherished and won many ribbons for their kids in 4-H etc. She might well have been the most appreciated foal we ever sold. She is one I would definitely love to clone just because she's one special horse in spite of her "unacceptable" color. A chocolate Yorkie could very easily turn out the same.

I'm so jealous. I would love to have a female yorkshire to breed to Reuger. He has such a wonderful personality and is so easy going that I think that he would have wonderful pups. I would love to hear the pitter patter of little paws!! I wish that I lived close enough that I could drop by and see them after they're born, but I'm too far. You'll have to post lots of pictures for us.

You're so lucky. I've always wanted to have a female and breed. My Zoe turned out way too tiny to breed, but I knew that would probably be the case when I got her. Just cant have our tiny and breed it too. (Can't have our cake and eat it too. I'm trying to be funny. )
I'm not home enought to be able to be a responsible breeder.
