Husbands and House work

Ok how many of you have husbands that help around the house?
Mine does. Not all the time mind you but at least 2 or 3 times a week.
He does dishes,(No dishwasher here), laundry, makes the bed, and cooks.
But he doesn't do bathrooms. LOL

The title of this thread compelled me to come check it out. Husband and housework are seldom used in the same sentence here unless I'm feeling ornery and am complaining about the lack of help. LOL My hubby is only home about 34 hrs a week, so he doesn't have much time to help, and he's under the impression that since he's not here to mess, it's not his job to clean either. He does do his own laundry, but that's about the extent of it.

Now Linda, you know mine doesn't do crap around here unless he's told or asked to and then he does it just good enough to get it done. He lays things around anywhere. One of my pet peeves about him is if I would let things go.....you could find anything of his on top of the refridgerator...LOL I don't like for anything to be on top of the fridge, so whenever I have the table all set for a meal....I pile it on his plate. Then he'll put it away.

You're very lucky Gary helps you so much. Basically around her the rule is....if I don't do it, it doesn't get done. SUCKS!!!!

I'm the lucky one, believe it or not my husband does most of the daily housework. I clean out the dishwasher, he loads. We take turns with dinner, but he probably cooks more than I do. I dust, he sweeps. I do the bathrooms, he picks up after me & does the laundry. All in all I'm really very lucky. Oh & he always takes the puppy potty, which is awesome because it's like 2 degrees out. I'm gonna try to help more, but I'm just not motivated.

My hubby is a big time neat freak. I'm more laid back. So hubby ends up doing most of the chores. We take turns cooking dinner and doing the dishes. He dusts and vaccums. He does his own laundry. I do the bathrooms and change the bed sheets. We both share responsibility of taking the dogs out to potty. Hubby works many more hours than I do, so sometimes I feel guilty. But I feel like if he wants it done bad enough, then he won't mind doing it himself if I don't feel like doing it.

You guys are so lucky!!!! I don't think my husband knows where the vaccume is??? And dust........I've never seen him do any of that kind of stuff. Now once in a while he will empty the dishwasher, but he always lets me know he's doing it.

I pretty much do everything around here regarding maintaining the house. But to his defense it's because of our business here. He works sooo hard here at the house and I have a lot of free time. So, i feel it's only fair that I do my share.

He makes me feel guilty if he works long hours then after dinner he begins to do the dishes. I normally stop him and say "oh just leave it, let's watch tv and I will do them in the morning".

On weekends if I get into a cleaning project he will normally help me if I ask.

He will help out anytime I ask but it's silly that I would ask him to go dust the livingroom or something if I've been slacking all day. Just doesn't seem right.

He is willing to do ANYTHING I ask no matter what it is. I need to remember this the next time I get really annoyed at him. LOL

I do most of the housework, but if I am tired he will clean up after dinner, he does make me breakfast every weekend, he didnt like my eggs when we first got married so he took over. Fine with me...lol Sometimes on Sat. if we don't go out for a bite he will make pizza and if I am working on Sunday he cooks . So I can't complain.

My husband does alot of the housework...but we mostly do it together. If I wash the dishes, then he rinses and vice versa. He will wash and dry the laundry and I fold and put it away. We both bring in firewood, but he cuts and splits it and I help stack it. He even changes diapers!

My hubby does a lot around the house. He does make a lot of the mess, though. Yesterday I went to Austin shopping, and while I was gone, he cleaned the refrigerator, shopped for groceries & had supper cooked and a plate in the frig for me when I got home. He scrubbed the shower a couple of days ago. He does laundry, dishes, just about anything. He irons his own clothes. Basically we work together & our children help, also. Hubby does not do things like I would, but it's his house, too and he is willing to help, so I try not to complain. Definitely a keeper!!!

My hubby is pretty good about helping around the house. The only thing he doesn't do is sweep the floors, everything else he'll do his fair share of. The thing that helps me out most is that if there are any dirty dishes, he'll do them while I'm cooking dinner so that we're able to spend time together, but he's also being productive. I think he knows I'll have more time for him later if he helps with the housework. LOL!

My DH and I have a deal. He does the outside and I do the inside. He is very handy and always building new things for me too.

I know it is not a system that works for everyone, but it works for us.
