Do You Run Out Of Things To Talk About?
Do you ever find yourself at dinner with your mate and find that conversation is lacking? Or do you still find things to talk about, even after 10, 20, 30, or 40 years together?
How important is dinner conversation to you? |

Yeah my husband & I have this problem. We work at the same place, so what i know he already knows & so on. We now have all the same friends & we don't seem to do anything separate anymore. Sometimes we will get on tangents and really start chatting, but mostly it's pretty boring to sit & have a conversation with just each other. However, if something does happen there isn't a person in the world i'd rather share it with then him.

My husband and I rarely ever run out of things to talk about.....we're chatter boxes - both of us! That's one thing that really attracted us to one another when we first met. We realized that we had such good conversation, and we both talked a lot, but neither of us droned on, were boring, etc.
One thing my young-marrieds small group has been challenging each other to do is what we call the "Three Things" questions. Each day, either at dinner or after work or before bed, ask your spouse "tell me three things that happened today and how you felt about them" and both of you get a chance to answer, even if your answers are big or small. Often, you will find more than three things once you get on a roll! ("Three Things" as suggested in "Toward a Growing Marriage" by Dr. Gary Chapman who also authored the Five Love Languages) |

No, we both have so many different interests and we just LOVE sharing everything with each other. Sometimes we just don't know who should talk first, lol. But we've only been married for 3 years, maybe it'll change over time...I really hope it doesn't though!

We talk quite a bit. My husband must run out of things to say, because he'll tell me the same thing every day for a week. Drives me crazy. My side of the conversation usually goes..."mmm I know, you told me that already."
