Have you ruled out any infections? Your mouth shouldn't still be so painful. I agree that too much ibruprofin is bad for your stomach. Have you tried Orajel or Ambesol to numb the area? It relieves the pain for a short time but it is better that popping pills. Maybe you can try that with Extra Strength Tylenol. It is safer for your stomach. Hope you feel better soon.

He was really rough when he pulled it and he removed a piece of jaw i don't see any infection but the reason I've been taking the ibuprofen was to keep the swelling down it helps a lot either way Tylenol isn't good for your liver so they are both bad for ya lol! I usually won't even take meds for a headache i just hate pills but this has been the worst experience ever and i need something to keep the edge off the pain ya know i try to only take it in the morning when it hurts the worst sometimes mid afternoon and before bed. I can't put the ambesol in the open wound it still hasn't healed so it would burn like mad!!

OUCH!!! Hope your mouth feels better real soon, maybe you should go back to the dentist, and tell him, he could give you perscription meds.

My dentist said to use Aleve. But... when I was a kid and had a tooth ache, my Mom would put Bayer Baby Asprin on the tooth and let it melt. (The ones that tasted like orange - do they even still make it?) I've been having a lot of dental work lately, too, and I hate, hate, HATE going to the dentist. If what happened to you were to happen to me, I'd be beating his door down for pain meds!! You know... wake me up when it doesn't hurt anymore! |

Amber,
Ask your doctor for a prescription of Naprosyn. It is like Advil but easier on your stomach. You're right, too much Tylenol is bad for your liver and too much Advil can eat the lining of your stomach - but remember, "too much" is over a longer period of time than what you've been taking so don't worry about the Advil too much. Or try the Aleve. I sure hate you are still hurting after all this time! Prayers continue that you feel relief soon! Suzi

Amber, sweetheart, get to a dentist (not the jerk who damaged your jawbone) and see what they recommend for this kind of pain. Maybe he can give you something that will target that specific area... Please do something, I don't want you to be in pain....

Thanks girls you all are so great well i have percocets but i stopped taking them cause they made me sick but the pain isn't excruciating it's just really bothersome so the ibuprofen works great and i can't get in to another dentist yet then one to see doesn't have an opening but i will give it one more week then it's on
