Avatar Help Needed!
Since I'm not that good at this kind of thing, I hope I ask the questions correctly.
I made an avatar for a friend of mine on YT. I find out (didn't know before) that when she is on YT she doesn't see the other avatars blinking. So when she puts the blinking avatar I made for her on, it doesn't work. She does see it blinking in the test forum though. What does she need to do to be able to see the avatars blinking? Is there something she needs to download? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

She needs to go into "User CP' and click on "Edit Options" Then scroll down to "Thread Display Options" and then click on "Show Avatar". That's the way it is on here and I would assume that it would be the same on YT. See if that helps her. If that's not it, then I don't have a clue.

Well, it just looks like she needs a new computer. She sees the rotating avatars at work, just not at home.

I doubt that she needs a new computer. It's probably something very simple like flash driver download or something. I'm afraid I'm not computer savy enought to know what to do. Surely one of the younger ones on here can chime in and suggest a fix. Isn't Java the program that makes icons and avator's do motion stuff?

She told me last night that her computer is 10 years old...so maybe that is it. She'd like a new one, but had new tires put on and we all know how expensive tires are. One good thing....my dear friend will be safe on the winter roads.

It could be that her browser is not up to date (since her computer is so old this is likely). If the browser isn't up to date it might not recognize the scripts for the avatars. She can google her browser (IE or Firefox most likely) for recent updates.

10 year old computer, wow, what an antique!!
I just cannot believe how technology is advancing. My two year old LifeDrive (Palm computer) is out of date. We spend so much money on all of this, but I guess we cannot take it with us. What a "throw-away" society we live in. When I was growing up, we washed zip-loc bags.

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I always feel like a weirdo when I save those bags, but I just can't stand to waste them!

Depending on what goes into the Zip-Loc I reuse them also. So many times it just seems silly to throw them out.
I re-use the grocery baggies too. I cramb them in a corner of the pantry and pop them out as needed. Now, my Mom....sheesh! she folds each plastic baggy nicely and places them in an empty Kleenex tissue box and pops them out as needed. That's just way too much work for me. LOL What was this thread about again? Oh yes! Avatars...LOL Still don't have a clue about all that.
