I think I just did the stupidest thing ever

I don't know what's going through my head. I have been so stressed out. Layla has some sort of skin infection and I'm worried it's ringworm. If it's anything contagious then there goes my money I've spent on classes, when we've only been to one, and there goes the grooming appointment she had on Monday... so I called the vet this morning and made an appointment for 3 this afternoon, and since I stayed home until the vet's office opened, I was a half hour late for work. I got in in the middle of a meeting which I was late for so I had to stand. I have low blood pressure, and I can't stand for long periods of time. After about 45 minutes of people just going ON and ON about nothing, and other people jumping in, I was getting so frustrated and angry and then it hit me out of nowhere, I could barely see and I felt like I was going to fall over. I've passed out a million times before so I know the symptoms. As soon as I got that feeling I booked it to my office and sat down and put my head down. It wasn't getting better, it was getting worse. My shirt was soaked with sweat and I felt like I was about to throw up. So I went out and told the receptionist "I'm sick, I'm going home" and I walked out into the parking lot and by this time I could barely see anything, just blobs of color. I got into my front seat, and I passed out. And I can't believe I did this... I woke up, started the car, and DROVE home. I could see well, and I had my air conditioning on full blast so I felt awake, but I shouldn't have drove. I have passed out 4 times in a row before. Anyways, there was also construction happening and it took me about 3 times as long as normal to get home. And now I'm home, in bed, and I've lost it and I can't stop crying

Lindsey, I'm so glad you're safe!
You're right, that wasn't your smartest move. Thank God it didn't end very differently.

Take care girl!

My goodness, Lindsey, what were you doing driving home in that condition! You should have stayed at the office until you knew that your lightheadedness had passed. We certainly wouldn't want you to pass out while you were driving home and getting hurt! Promise us that you'll never do that again!!!!

Are you alright now that you're home? You really should check with a doctor about this. Did you know that by not drinking enough water that you can cause low blood pressure? Please take care of yourself.

I should have mentioned... I've had problems with high blood pressure for many years. So I'm on 2 different meds for it which keep it pretty low. When I have to stand for any length of time, my blood pressure drops too. My dr said when It's inevitable that I MUST stand in one spot for a while, the thing to do is to keep shifting my feet and legs to keep the blood from pooling and the pressure from dropping. It does help me, so I figured it's worth mentioning.

I have been completely fine since I got home. I talked with the other drafter at work and told him I could go back for the afternoon but he told me don't worry and just stay home. He said even if I'm feeling better, I should at least stay home to take care of Layla! Anyways, so I decided to have a nap and I slept for about 4 hours. I feel 100% better.
I didn't know that about drinking water! I passed out for the first time when I was 6, and on stage for our Christmas concert in first grade. Everyone was standing up there singing, and it was a pretty lengthy song lol, and I was all of a sudden just OUT. I passed out a few more times when I was 10 and 11, but the big one came when I passed out in a Chemistry lab at the university (standing while the T.A. did a demonstration) and they freaked out and called 911 and I got taken away in an ambulance! Then at that point I thought I should really look into this more. I went to my grandma's doctor and he pretty much just said that my system is really touchy, and as soon as something is a little out of the ordinary my body doesn't know what to do so it just shuts down. The only advice he gave me though was to sit down when I felt faint, and to lay down while getting blood taken.
I was shifting my legs and feet around this morning too. Usually about 15 or 20 minutes is too long for me standing in one spot, but I managed to make it to 45 this morning. I was getting so angry though with people not shutting up! I just wanted the meeting to be over!
Oh by the way, Layla does NOT have ringworm, so that's a GIANT relief!

I'm sending you and Layla a big hug! And....don't you ever drive in that condition again.

Thank goodness you're home and safe.

Thank you Judy. And I won't do that again. I don't know what I was even thinking, I guess that I just wanted to get out of there and get home to bed.
