Oil Lamps
Does anybody have an oil lamp, i.e. Lampe Berger? Hubby got me one a few years ago and I loved it so much I went to Ebay and bought a few for gifts. Now, I just give those people some oil when a gift is needed.
The named oil is expensive, but I found some off-named for less than half price that burns just as well.

My parents have a couple of really old oil lamps. We used to use them camping when I was little to light up our tent-trailer at night. I don't think they use them anymore for anything, but I always thought they were really pretty-looking. And when I smell the oil burning now, the memories flood back!

Yes, I have a lamp berger and I love it. My daughter got one and really liked it so I got one. I find it really takes the odors out of a room. And you are right, the name brand oil is VERY expensive!

We had a couple oil lamps many years ago. I only used themwhen the lights went out. One of the globes broke and although they were inexpensive, I never replaced them and sold them in a garage sale.

I have a very small fragrance lamp. They really don't use "oil" do they? I think that it's something more alcohol based. I have regular oil lamps too that I use when the electricity goes off. Lampe Berger lamps don't provide light they are filled with a fuel that has a fragrance in them.

Right, lamp berger's are fragrance lamps. I have oil lamps too, from my grandma and mom, but right now, don't have any "fuel" for them!!!

I try to keep fuel around for my oil lamps because we use them when the electricity goes off.

We always keep Coleman gas for our camping lanterns and plenty of batteries for our flashlights.
