Talking My Weekend Alone

I will have the weekend alone while the boys go to Fort Ouiatenon - Feast of the Hunters Moon. http://www.lafayette-online.com/tags/fort-ouiatenon/
The make a wonderful stew type dish and this is their fund raiser. They love going every year. Here are a few images to see http://images.google.com/images?hl=e...-8&sa=N&tab=wi

I like it because I get the house to myself. There is an auction on Saturday that I am very interested in going. See how cheap some wicker furniture may go...lol. Anyway, I know I'll be on here quite a bit too.

You're so lucky! My Hubby seems to have given up hunting, so I miss my free weekends. I want to go to my son's house this weekend and need to go to Louisiana to sort through my Mom's things. Enjoy!

The boy's weekend get-away looks really interesting!! I bet that they'll have a great time from the looks of things. It's so great that your son and husband do things together.

And you get a WHOLE weekend to yourself!! Yay!! I love having days all to myself! An auction would be fun to go to. I didn't know that you were looking for wicker furniture. Where are you going to put them if you get them?......It will be nice to have you on here a lot too!!!! Have fun!!!

I have a busy weekend. This is our pastor's last weekend and we're having a really big church dinner and reception for him and his wife. So I've got decorating to do and some cooking to do for it as well. That's all happening on Sunday. On Saturday Jaci has a volleyball tournament in another town that I'm going to. She had one last weekend but I couldn't make it and I know that she really likes for me to be there so I'm pretty obligated to go. I like to think that she plays better when I'm there watching too!!!!

I'm going to have the whole weekend to myself too - YAY!!! My son-in-law is taking my hubby hunting. Actually, I'll have to spend some time with my daughter - since she will be home alone all weekend with the 22 month old and her grandmother - I'll have to go over and help entertain the little one some of the time. We'll probably go shopping a little and do some fun girly things.

I enjoy my hubby being gone too - he's home every day, all day, so I know he likes to get out of the house too!

Austin will be crazy this weekend - there isn't a hotel room to be had in a 40 mile radius. We have the Austin City Limits music festival - a HUGE weekend of live music venues all over town - there are hundreds of bands in town. And we have a football game in town, Arkansas vs Texas. This game was supposed to have been played the Saturday Ike hit Texas and it was postponed. WHEW! You won't be able to stir the people with a stick!!! And you won't be able to get into a restaurant either! It'll be the weekend for staying HOME!!!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend, Janet!!! Looks like your guys will have quite a time, too!!!

I'll be cleaning and getting caught up with stuff around the house. I teach a bible class on Sunday mornings, so have to prepare for that. A friend gave me a sour dough starter that she's had going for 20 years, so I want to make some bread this weekend. It's supposed to be easier with starter than with yeast, so I want to experiment and see.

Our children will all be in Austin at Austin City Limits so I know we won't be hearing from them. Just hope they wear enough sun screen!!

Gayle, enjoy the craziness that is Austin this time of year. We will be headed to Round Rock on Tuesday to see a doctor from Scott White about hubby's ablation procedure. I'm hoping I can get him to stop at IKEA. They have an inexpensive little wooden box with storage drawers that make perfect soap molds. I've been wanting one so bad, and you can't buy it online, just at the stores for some reason.

Hope everyone has a really good weekend!!!!

Marilyn, hope you get to stop at IKEA - I like that store, unless I'm going in for only one specific item, then I hate to have to snake through the whole store to find it (I always miss the shortcuts!).

Hopefully, the doc from Scott & White will work out better for your husband. I completely understand. My husband has 9 doctors and he sees 5 of them every 3 months. It takes a while to find the one that "fits" with you and if there isn't a good "fit", it just isn't right.

Gayle, it sounds like you're going to have a nice weekend too. It seems like lately all I've done is run, run, run. Maybe after this weekend things will slow down.

Marilyn, I used to make bread from a starter and we loved it. It's just something that you have to take care of to keep it going. I used to make loaves of bread and cinnamon rolls. Yummmm.

Is that bread what some call "Friendship Bread"? Trying to remember - you put 1 cup each of sugar, flour, water or milk in a plastic seal bag, then do something on several days (adding, etc.). Then you separate it out, make your bread and pass a starter to your friends.

I've never heard of this bread. Sounds like most of us are going to have a nice weekend. Sure wish I didn't have this allergy, sinus head cold or whatever it is. Hard to breath through my nose...LOL.

Yes, that's it. The friendship bread is more like a coffe cake when you bake it but you can also make a regular loaf of bread and cinnamon rolls out of it too. Just typing about it is making me hungry!!!

I keep the recipe under a clear glass cutting board on my cabinet top, always visible. I think I'll go home and start a batch!

You all are sure energetic!!! I'd rather go a couple miles west to this bakery run by two German Baptist sisters. Oh my gosh...it's heaven in there and everything tastes sooooo good.

Sandy, I really don't feel too awful bad, but all that dust (driving the bus) goes right up the snot holes (LOLOL) and causes bad things to happen. I'll just keep taking some over the counter sinus meds hope it rains soon.
