Thumbs down Not Looking Good!

The cute little weather guy just reported that starting late tomorrow afternoon and continuing until 3:00 A.M. Friday morning that we are to expect an ice storm. So far they are not saying how bad it will be so I would appreciate just a short little prayer that it misses us.

We are suppose to have a half day of school Friday and then be out till January 6th, but if this comes through, we probably won't have school at all. Guess there is good in everything...LOL.

Janet,

I know what you mean. They are saying up here 8 to 12 inches of snow then
ice on top of that. We are still hoping to get down to Muncie for Georges surgery.
So I'm praying really hard........................

When exactly is his surgery? I hope the roads will be okay. Usually once the bad weather stops, it doesn't take long for the interstates to clear up.

Janet,
His surgery is at 12:30 pm. So I have scared off the storm. I have filled my
bathtub with water. That always scares them off. And I bought extra milk
and such too. So I don't expect it to amount to much. I hope I don't eat my words. LOL

It has been so cold here! We've been getting daytime highs of around -25C (-13 F). Last weekend there was a windchill of -41C (-41.8F). We had our Christmas party for work last weekend too so I was outside in a dress and open-toed heels with bare legs lol. Thank goodness I'm tough
I have not been able to find the cord for my block heater either. I had Scott look for it one day and he couldn't find it (but it was the super cold day so we only looked for about 30 seconds) and then my brother couldn't find it either. It's probably hidden under something. It's so cold now though that I can't really bend a cord without it snapping! So far I've been lucky and my car has been starting! And speaking of my car starting I've gotta go warm it up so I can go to Walmart to finish my Christmas shopping!

We had our ice storm during the night, but here at 7:00 A.M. it's already starting to melt. They did call school, so I am officially on Christmas break until Jan. 6th. It's still raining, but is suppose to warm up quite a bit so most of the ice should be gone I would think by this afternoon or evening.

I am so thankful that it won't interfere with Ricky's 18th birthday tomorrow. We are taking him anywhere he wants for supper and so far he has widdled the choices to Red Lobster, Outback or Logan's. All are wonderful.

Hope the rest of you that were expecting bad weather get better than expected.

Lindsey, I just cannot imagine living in the temperatures that you do. I'm cold here and the lowest temp we've had so are was around +32F. You make me feel like such a wimp!!! I don't know if I could survive where you are, seriously. We had a week, probably 20 years ago or so when the temps stayed in the teens and 20's. For us it was sooooo incredibly cold. Brrrrrrrrrr. Stay warm!!!!

well after 5 hrs we finally have electricity, i know there are still others that don't or have been out for a longer period of time than i was. I hope they all get it back soon. it was getting a little chilly but with a blanket & the dogs piled around me it wasn't that bad, but i am glad it's back on.

We didn't make it south to Muncie. The roads are just so bad up here. It only 24 degrees out right now. My SIL called and said there were 17 family and friends in the waiting room. I'll post the news on my other thread. Its also snowing again.
