Folic Acid

I was just curious to see who took Folic Acid before they got pregnant? My hubby keeps harping to me that I need to take it everyday just in case I accidentally get pregnant, but I always forget to take it. That reminds me........

I take centrum performance & it has folic acid in it. I don't know if I'm gonna have kids or not, but it never hurts to be prepared. Are you trying to get pregnant?

OH NO! I'm not trying! But, you never can be too careful. Hubby just wants me to take it just in case I accidentally get prego. I do want to have kids eventually, but not in the forseeable future.

Which cereals and fruit juices are rich in folic acid?

I couldn't take it when I was pregnant - upset my tummy too much so I just took prenatal vitamins prescribed by the doctor. As for cereals and fruit juices, can't help you there - only fruit juice I drink is grapefruit juice, and that's not an every day thing, and I'm not much a cereal eater although I do love oatmeal!

I have Centrum Performance in my purse and I try to take it everyday, but I usually forget. I am good about taking my daily pills that I take in the morning, but I'm scared if I take the vitamin with those AM pills, that it will interfere with my birth control pill. So, I try to wait until later in the day to take my Centrum, which has my folic acid regimine in it. But I usually forget.

I leave it next to the sink so that I'll remember to take it in the morning with my water.... but I dunno, mornings are rushed

Well, I'm now 23 and I've been taking birth control pills since I was 15, so I'm very used to them now. But when I first started taking them, yes, I would get very nauseous at the same time every single day. But now, they don't even phase me. I put all my pills in my purse and when I get to work every morning I take them. You're supposed to take the "pill" at the same time everyday. I always go to bed at different times and sometimes we go out at night so it is easier for me to take them in the mornings. I'm just don't want my Centrum counteracting my birth control pills so I really want to take it at a different time during the day.

My hubby is a physician and he said that vitamins could possibly counteract with the pill so it is best not to take them at the same time. If the vitamin has minerals in it, the minerals could bind to the pill and make it ineffective. So, I don't want to take any chances.

The reason I can't remember to take my centrum is because it says to take it will food, is this untrue? If you don't have to take it with food then I could take it in the morning with my allergy pill & be a-okay.
