Homeopathic doctor
I found a very good chiropractor in Woodstock. I have trouble with my neck and shoulder. My Bklyn chiropractor kept everything running smoothly with a once a month visit. I needed to start that over up here. I had found a chiro nearby, but he does those cracking type adjustments. Mine uses something called the activator method. which works on me better and doesn't hurt.
The first visit she was telling me she also is a homeopathic doctor, does massages, reiki, and so on. We got to talking about the homeopathic stuff because I've been feeling very tired and kind of run down lately. I just don't have the energy I like having. I know I'm not sick. I decided to try her approach, which consists of certain supplements. She says they are from whole foods, she tests me with my arm being raised, etc. I honestly don't think she is a scam, but I do think she is totally invested in this method of attaining good health. I am not. I think the supplements do help. In fact, I am feeling a good bit more energetic. The supplements are not very expensive either. She has a goal to get me off of all medication that I take, and to have me eat very healthy foods, along with whatever supplements I may still need. She feels that this is the key to optimum health. I have a different agenda. I want to have more energy, and a general sense of well being. Her diet consists of organic proteins, fruits, veggies, water, full fat dairy products, lacto-fermented foods (?) and properly prepared whole grains. No sugar, no carbs, no soda, no processed foods, no low fat or fat free foods, white flour products, pasteurized, homogenized milk, etc. Needless to say, I am not going to follow these dietary regulations, although I can tweak some of the things I do eat. I dislike health food stores, and find that much of these organic diets are not only very expensive, but not so necessary. Everything in moderation is always best. I did read the philosophy of the Doctor whose diet she uses. I told her that while I can see a lot of sense to some of it, I think he's a maniac. She looked at me aghast. Tough. He's into eating like indigenous people. Why? I'm not indigenous, and I don't know that they live that long anyway. Last week I had to set her straight. She's all aflutter about getting me off of my medication. I said "Wait a minute. I don't think we are on the same page." I have no desire to get off most of my medication. I'm keeping my nexium, my ambien, my tranquilizer for those too stressful times, and which helps me sleep so well when taken with an ambien. My anti-depressants I don't stay on. My depression is genetic and I just don't worry about it. Every so often I take anti-depressants and then I stop. She was not a happy homeopathic chiropractor! I may just lie about my diet. I have to keep a daily log of what I eat, but I realized that I have no reason to do this since I'm not concerned with her diet. So this is my story, and I'm stickin to it. If she doesn't saddle up and ride with me, I'm going to have to stop going to her.

Good for you for sticking up for yourself. Your treatment plan should be based on YOUR goals and what YOU want out of working with her. You're the one paying the money after all, and it's your body and your life. I hope things work out with her, but if they don't I think your decision to find a new chiro is definitely the best way to go. Good luck!
