First Freeze Warning...

We have our first freeze warning of the season here in South Texas, which everyone knows means we must perform the ritual bringing in of the plants. This ritual will be repeated over and over as the weather warms and cools until finally the freeze warnings subside. This year, we have a new addition to the family who loved us bringing in the plants. So much so that we had to confine the plants to prevent their demise. Here is a blurry pic, but you get the idea. Our rat terrier, Zeke, was terrorizing the plants, so we had to take drastic measures.

That is so cute....most people pen up the dog...you have to pen up the plants....LOL

I woke up to 22 degrees this morning and now it's 4:30 PM and only 31 degrees. I'm so ready for spring.

Zeke is soooo cute!

And here I am, happy that we hit a high of -4 today (24 F) although windchill was still -10 (14F)! We've been down in the high 20's for a couple of weeks! That's about -20 to -4 F. We're going back down after today though! My coworker who came from Mexico just took this picture a couple of days ago from her apartment. It's her first winter in these conditions... she loves the snow but hates the cold!

It was pretty chilly today for Texas. But the sun was shining so as long as you were in the sun and out of the wind, it was nice.

Thats a beautiful pic Lindsey, but looks too cold for me.

Didn't even get dressed today, it was windy and only made it to the 30's today.

Wow, Lindsey, that does look cold!!! Brrrrrrr!!!! I can't even imagine living where you do. We had our first light frost this morning. Good thing I brought the plants in. Zeke is quite something. He gets neutered, microchipped, and a baby tooth pulled next Wednesday. I hate to do this to him, but it's for the best. He's quite a stinker even though he's passed obedience training with flying colors. Just so much energy!!

That's the part of living in Texas that I don't like, and it's not much to complain about, mind you - I know!

You wake up in the morning and it is COLD, so you dress for cold, but by noon, if the sun comes out, then you are dressed too warmly. And sometimes by the end of the day, it might be HOT.

Also, when I have to wear a coat, then I am hot in the stores, so I end up taking my coat off and leaving it in the car, freezing my tail off getting into a store, so that I don't sweat to death inside.

I had to chuckle at your picture!!!! So cute!! We've been having some nice temps but the wind has been awful!!!

Dae Lynn's furnace in her new house isn't working right (it's brand new too) and she's getting pretty fustrated with it!! They've had a lot of things that are wrong in this house.

It sucks with a furnace isn't working properly...especially if you have children.

Not sure if I would like the Texas weather varying so much. I do love Texas the state though...lol. We've been having lots of wind here too and cold..in the 30's.
