Our bunny
Our bunny died today I think with all of us here, maybe she got fed too much greens and fruit. I noticed yesterday she didn't eat her food and this morning it didn't look like she had eaten any but she was perky and hopping around. Then this afternoon Gary found her dead. I feel so bad, we were not good bunny keepers.

Oh Gayle! I am so sorry about your bunny! Did it just live in your yard or something? Poor little thing! I love bunnies! Try not to feel too awfully bad toward yourselves, maybe it was already sick or something.

At least he got to live with you for a little while.

That's so sad Gayle. The bunny was so cute. I know nothing about how to care for a bunny, their health problems or anything. I just like to watch them.

They are nice pets. Jessie had a bunny for a couple of years, and another friend had Cosmo the bunny for a long time. He was an alpha bunny! Her big dogs would do whatever Cosmo allowed!
It just happens Gayle. It didn't sound like the yorkies would have let your bunny have a good life inside. It was sick, and would have died in the wild as well.

sorry to hear about your bunny Gayle. makes you wonder what happened, sometimes this happens with puppies, one minute they are fine and the next minute they are gone, so sad.

I know I feel sorry for the little bunny too! But we did the best we knew how. She was destined for the dinner table anyway, so I guess we prolonged her life just a little bit.

Oh good gosh tell me you didn't eat the poor little guy , Just joking, i know you didn't eat him.
I work with a girl who breeds and shows rabbits and she does eat them, along with her chickens. She is very much a country girl.

When I was growing up my neighbor raised (and ate) rabbits. I was friends with the daughter and ate at their house all the time, but I could NOT eat the bunnies. I tried but I just couldn't swallow! LOL!
I was a country girl for sure - we raised and ate beef, pigs, and chickens - but I could not eat the next door neighbors bunnies!

That reminds me of the time I was a vegetarian for two weeks. I went to my moms hometown Gudalajara, MX and went to the market. They were twisting the chickens neck and plucking the feathers. When I went to my aunts house the chickens feet were in the sink A few days later we went somewhere and while waiting for the bus I saw man carrying a whole peel cow to the butchers. Not to mention seeing pigs heads displayed. I was a traumitized 9 yr old.
And my mom wonders why I like the OR. |

I like rabbit. We used to have a couple that raised rabbits and they would bring fried rabbit to church dinners. Of course, my husband's a hunter and we've eaten lots of things!! Something that's good and very different is snapping turtle!! It's very good!!!
My daughter's raised a couple of rabbits when they were young and they left their cage in the sun and so ours didn't last very long either. Amy's girls have had rabbits for the last 2 or 3 years but they're just pets......no fried rabbits for them!!! |
