Hey Gayle, I've been a roller coaster ride with my moods. Chickens are doing good so far. All thought today she ate one of her eggs and that's not good for me if she starts eating her eggs.

That's a neat idea, I didn't even think of doing that. Cool, I will see if I don't break it all.

We use to raise chickens too. Our daughter showed them in 4-H. She got Grand Champion twice. We have gotten eggs like that before too. But Chickens were just to much work. We could not let them run free so they were caged. Ended up dressing them and putting them in the freezer. I miss the eggs the most. They are so expensive at the store and I knew where they came from. Enjoy.

Our chickens are laying eggs too. Of course, Henny Penny has been laying eggs for a year now. You can tell her eggs because they are so much bigger than the others. The other hens that are laying are having small eggs and every once in a while we get an odd shaped one. It's cool to think that we're having our own eggs......at least it helps me feel better about not having any grass in the front yard!!! But not much!!

We have WAY too many roosters!! They crow constantly!!! I always thought that roosters crowed in the morning and evening.......Boy, was I wrong!!!

Our neighbors have chickens but they are in a fenced area with a coop. Can Glenn get a set up like that for the chickens so they won't tear up the yard?

Yes, he can and he was going to but the chickens got so big that he couldn't just leave them in the coop any longer. We have about 30 chickens now so they'll need a good sized pen. You would not believe how fustrated I am about the whole chicken thing. My yard looks AWFUL.

You know in the old movies that had a farm house? There was a reason that they didn't have any grass.......it's because they had CHICKENS!!!

In my case there was no grass before I got the chickens so I don't feel bad for not having grass.

Her eggs are very small but hopefully there's time for growth. I have a small coop and I put a fence around so they can roam free. That way my dogs or other wild animals don't get to them.

I don't think I would show my chickens. Wouldn't even know where to start.

I know I am not allow to have roosters here so I make sure I get all females. Love my eggs
