I have issues with it all! There is no way that she can have true one on one with each child. I don't doubt that she loves them all but let's be real here... 18 kids!! They said they will have as many as the Lord will allow?? I personally believe that God gave us a brain to think with to know when to stop... enough is enough. With so much publicity I have to wonder if they are getting donations on the side...

I can't begin to understand anyone wanting to have 18 kids; much less take good care of that many! But as long as they're not asking me to support or babysit for them, hey, different strokes for different folks!

I'm a little judgemental about this family too. I guess I don't really agree with the older kids having to take care of the younger ones. It's nice to help out your parents a little, but kids still need to be kids. It also seems like the kids aren't really out there in the real world. From the shows I've seen on them there's no real interaction with other kids, they don't seem to have other friends other than their siblings. They just seem pretty sheltered to me.

My grandparents have 18 kids 15 living today. She had two sets of twins. I always wondered did they all get one on one which children so badly need. My mom sisters say yes and brag about how my grandma would never let them leave the house without looking nice. My mother is the baby of them all at 43 and she told me that her sister really raise her who was a couple years older. It really affects a child's life, because when my mom said it she seemed kind of mad about it.

I've taught classes of about 20 kids, and couldn't give them all what they needed.
Of course, it wasn't a constant thing, like a family situation, where you might have more time for each. I did rely on the brighter ones to help the average students. The slower kids got more time, but not enough. Not only that, but the squeaky wheel gets the grease. If some of their children are developing well, and have no big issues, they won't get as much attention as those with difficulties.
