Our home was struck by lightening when I was a little girl and again after Glen and I were married. I hate lightening especially when it's close. We had so many close hits in the old house because we sat right in the middle of a large field so the trees were the highest things around.
Janet, I read about the girl that you talked about. The lightening struck her while she was inside of the house closing a window. Scary.

We had lightening strike right outside our front door when I was about 5 or 6. I happened to be standing by the door at the time, and ended up with what looked like a sunburn on my back through the screen from it.
I'm still not smart enough to be scared of it. lol

About 15-20 years ago, a storm struck during the night. It must have been a Friday night because I was cleaning the next day and I ALWAYS cleaned on Saturday. When I pulled the nightstand out, the wall around the phone jack was all black and the little mini tape that was in the answering machine (we didn't have digital then) was on the floor. The wall could have very easily caught fire, but we didn't hear a thing, slept right through it. That was scary to think would COULD have happened.
