Brenda, please come back and let us know what you think about the Shark. I've really considered getting one. I have a steam cleaner I bought on Ebay and really like the cleaning performance, but it's a boiler that rolls around with a long hose and attachments. It needs a new cap for the boiler, but I haven't ordered it because it's $25. That money could go toward the purchase of a Shark it they work well.

I wish I had a housekeeper. I did when the girls were small, but when they got bigger, hubby said we didn't need a housekeeper with three women in the house. The girls are gone now, but now he doesn't want us to spend the money on a housekeeper. (He hasn't mowed a lawn in 10 or 15 years. We have a guy who does it for us every week.) Hubby does help with the housework though, but would so like to be free on the weekends and not have to scrub floors and bathrooms!!

I certainly will Marilyn!! Why does he have a lawn boy and you don't have a housekeeper!! That's not fair!! LOL You are VERY lucky that your hubby helps you out around the house...Mine doesn't help me do ANYTHING....He doesn't even pick up after himself!!! Makes me VERY angry!! OH well...I guess that is a subject for another thread!

I have the shark! I love it too. I used it on my laminates in my old place and it worked great! But, it's just like mopping... if you don't sweep the big stuff up first, it just gets pushed into the corners. But you don't waste money on cleaners and it really does a great job of getting the floors clean.

We have a small yard that I could easily mow - but because hubby can't mow due to a heart/lung condition, he doesn't want me to mow either!!! I'll admit I don't like mowing in the intense heat, but I hate spending money on a lawn service when I could do it myself - not to mention that I need the exercise!!!

But housework - now I HATE housework - and it takes waaay longer than mowing. My hubby doesn't help me with housework either, so I'm very lucky to be able to have a housekeeper!!!

Here's the one on QVC. It does have more pads. There are quite a few reviews from people who have bought it so you might want to read them.

huh! didn't get very good reviews...I didn't look to see if there were dates on these reviews...maybe they were from when they first came out and they improved them?? I am probably going to still buy one and try it out...if I don't care for it I will bring it back...Thanks for this Diana...gives me a heads up on what can happen

I noticed that the reviews weren't that good. At least you'll know what to keep an eye on. Make sure you keep your box and receipt.......just in case.

Looks like the reviews were either hot or cold. Some people thought the handle was flimsy, others complained about problems after a few months. They probably just used tap water. I have experience operating boilers for power generation, and the Shark is basically a small boiler. You need to use distilled or reverse osmosis water so the minerals can't buildup. Minerals will damage the boiler and can clog up small ports in the device.

Some people are just rough with things and don't take care of them. I'd definitely try it based on the very positive reviews concerning it's cleaning ability. School is starting and we have a lot of expenses right now with our daughters in college, so I'll wait a bit to buy one. Hope yours works well, Brenda!!

I am not the least bit ashamed, Gayle!~ I HATE housework!!! Let somebody else do it. There are so many better ways to spend your time

I hope Shark works out Brenda!

I can't complain too much. I was in a fishing tournament today. Spent last night in Port O'Connor and got up early this morning and spent the day on the bay. I was stressing a bit because tomorrow night I have to go to Houston for computer training all next week, and did not know when I was going to get everything done.

Hubby cleaned the house for me today while I was gone. Scrubbed bathrooms, mopped floors and all. I don't have a housekeeper, but every now and then Rex does something like this for me. How can I complain!!??

Still anxious to hear how the Shark works out!!

My husband's never done that for me either. Sometimes he may vacuum and he helps keep the kitchen clean but I don't think that he's EVER touched the bathrooms!!! Tell Rex that I'm impressed!!!
