Y'all are making me hungry!! Just the THOUGHT of cooler weather makes me want soup and chili. I only cook it in winter, too. Kinda crazy, considering we all have air conditioning here. lol!

Yeah Betsi - you'd think the way we can't eat soup/chili till winter, that we don't have air conditioning, swelter in our homes and only eat ice cold foods!!! LOL!!

I made buffalo meat sliders and potato soup for supper. Harold's not a soup slurper, but Laura and the g-kids loved it. I sliced cucumbers, and red and yellow bell peppers instead of fries!

I'll keep them coming if you will - we need the recipes for your specialites: chicken soup, lentil soup, and veggie soup aka minestrone and being italian we love pasta and fagoli.. aka pasta and beans.

Come on now, part with the recipes - and don't say you don't have a recipe!!! If it isn't written down, make the soup, write it down and post it here! Got it? OK!

Oh and I LOVE chili from Wendy's too!!!

Hamburger Soup

3 lbs ground beef
2 onions chopped
796mL diced tomato
2 envelopes (~2tbsp) beef bouillon
2 cups chopped celery
2 cups sliced carrots
1/2 cup barley
1 tsp thyme (optional... my mom doesn't use it)
2 tbsp parsley
4 bay leaves
2-3 cans tomato soup

Brown ground beef. Add all other ingredients with enough water to more than cover it all (barley will soak up a lot). Bring to a boil, and then cook on low for about 3 hours.

Buffalo meat sliders are bison meat ground into little patties on little rolls - tiny burgers - don't know why they're called sliders.

Ah Ha! Got it!!! I don't know why they are called "sliders" either. I always think of raw oysters when I hear the word "sliders"! LOL!
