here's a recipe for you, don't forget to cut it in half
Large pkg. of Vanilla pie and pudding mix (cook kind) 1/2 c. sugar 4 cups milk 4 egg yolks. Cook on low heat stirring constantly until thick. Give it to your mom at body temp. This will not cause diarreha so she can have all she wants. If it is the first time she has had it or seems to not like it, put some in some wet food for her. I usually give mine about two tablespoons a day in between their other meals. I also cut the recipe in half because it makes way too much.

Paula she is just so sweet!!!! Are you keeping her...have you named her?
Here is another recipe.... Whelping Pudding 16 oz. water 1 pkg. Knox Gelatin (micro. to disolve) 15 oz. can evap. milk 2 tabls. vanilla yogurt 2 egg yolks 2 tabls. white corn syrup mix all ingred. in bowl let set in fridge until thickens. Spoon out as needed. If you use the one that Lynne posted....be sure the sugar is dissolved completely. I use both recipes...just depends on how much time I have. The one Lynne gave is from Dee (SugarsMom) and this one is from Mardelin on YT.

Thanks Janet. That is the recipe I used when she had her last litter of puppies. I went ahead and made Lynne's, I have not been feeling good, chest cold or something. I didn't go out today but I had everything to make the other recipe. She had a scrambled egg this morning. She isn't coming out much. And when she does, it is only for a few seconds. I wander if it has anything to do with there only being one baby? As soon as it whines a little bit, she is like a streak of lightening getting back in with it. With her last litter, she would come out and eat and get water but this time she is different. We'll be going to the vet on Tuesday. She acts fine just isn't interested in leaving the baby. Last night she jumped up in my chair and no more than sat down and was off like a light to her baby.
Since I have only had one other litter, I don't have alot to compare to so any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I don't know if I will keep the baby or not. I am going to be super attached! I don't need it but.........who knows? I'm thinking of calling her Laci. I thought that would be cute since I have a Lucy. When Halle had the other litter, I gave all of them a name. They were Sophie changed to Jazzie by her buyer. Gizzie changed to Willow by the buyer, Layla they kept her name, and Lucy who I kept. |
