No, you really can't color hair gray - my hairdresser said it is because gray is the absence of color. You can bleach it white or almost white and then let it grow out and it won't be nearly as noticeable as if it is dark - but sometimes bleached hair is yellow instead of white. I have seen women do the reverse frost and I think that is the best way to grow it out.

All this talk about going grey got me to looking up info. Take a look at this site!

Read the whole thing. The last link Youth Hair has some interresting info! There is a product that they talk about that is suppose to help keep you from going gray! I am willing to try anything to be honest. I have noticed a few gray hairs popping out.
