The first pic is our Christmas tree. This is the first year we've had a full-size tree and we love it! We still use our smaller tree for family ornaments.

The second pics are my sister's Christmas photos that went on Mom's cards. I messed up the lighting on the first one, but I still think the pose is cute so I kept it.

Everyone's trees and decorations look so nice!!! I only put up my tree this year. With everything that's been going on my heart just hasn't been on Christmas. I didn't even put the ornaments on it that I usually do but I'm thinking now about how easy it's going to be to take down and put away. Maybe I should think about scaling down. Thanks so much for sharing your pictures. I really enjoyed seeing your decorations!!!

I'm so sorry about your maltese, but I'm glad you got to spend 16 years with him. Chipper belongs to my mom, Forgivenmom5. She is Maltchimom on Maltesetalk if you are a member there.

My tree is going to stay up for awhile. I just don't feel like taking it down yet. Besides, I'm going to start babysitting Karlie starting tomorrow and I'm not sure what kind of help I'd have with a 2 1/2 yr. old!!!! I'm looking forward to having her!!

Our tree is still up and probably won't come down until New Year's day or maybe even next weekend. We're still recovering from all the business (that's busyness) of the holidays. There was a lot of intense wrapping, bowmaking, cooking, baking, dishwashing, and spending time with family. We've been to three movie in the past 5 days. Not to mention the usual laundry and such. I go back to work this morning and have 1/2 day off on Wednesday, all day Thursday and back to work on Friday, so somewhere in there we have to find time to take the tree and decorations down and do a good cleaning. We're going to a church New Year's Eve party which should be fun.

Hubby has been working off and on here at home during the festivities drawing house and cabinet plans for the projects he's getting ready to start. He signed two contracts last week and hopefully another this week. We were so worried, but all is working out and his business if picking up finally.

What movies did you see Marilyn? I think Ricky and I are gong to go see Marley and Me. I read the book and the reviews say it's very good.

We're getting ready to leave for our second movie in two days. We're taking my brother Randy to see Despereaux. He LOVES going to the theater so we bought him gift certificates for Christmas. I also got my hubby some gift certificates as well and we saw Valkyrie. What have you seen so far? We still have enough left for one more movie. Any suggestions?

We saw:

1. Benjamin Button - a very good movie for lots of reasons, good special effects!! and story line. Up to the standards you would expect for an actor like Brad Pit. However, do have some issues with the moral standards of the story line.

2. Twilight - a disappointment. The author wrote the screen play and they should have had a real screen writer do it. Also, it was obviously produced on a very low budget. It had potential, but the studio just did not have what it takes to make a quality production. The story line was pretty close to the book though condensed as it had to be for the time constraints, and the ending was different than the book.

3. Seven Pounds - Very good quality movie, up to the standards you would expect from Will Smith. However, without spoiling it for others, IMO, it glorified something that should not be glorified. We left concerned that others may emulate the Will Smith character.

We wanted to see Valkyrie, but by the time we got to the the ticket office (long lines on Christmas Day), there were only 20 seats left and we were a group of 5 and would have been sitting on one of the front two rows, so opted for Benjamin Button instead.

I love everybody's trees and collections (and pets!). I have my little laser tree and angel, which will stay up until next week. I also have a wreath on my front door and a lovely lighted one on my deck, which Jessie bought me.

Cleanup should take about 15 minutes if I take a coffee break in the middle. I love it!

I did find the box with my old tree and ornaments. When I get a chance, I'm going to look at them and decide if I'm going to keep it or give the good stuff to Jessie.
She has tons of my Christmas stuff all over the house. It's great having a daughter to hand these kind of things down to.

Your tree is very beautiful, Pope!!! And I love the card holder too. I need to find something like that to display my cards too. We get so many photo cards anymore that it would be nice to display them.

We took our tree down yesterday because we're having company over tonight for New Year's Eve and there will be small children. We figured that it would help the night to go better with it down and the ornaments put away.
