We've had some strange weather in the U.S. this winter. I hope you all up north don't get too much more snow!

We have been in a moderately severe drought in central Texas this fall/winter. But we've had some nice rain lately. The past couple of days we've had an inch and a half of slow drizzle. It's the kind that all soaks in. YAY!

We have had a lot of rain in since yesterday. In fact, it hasn't stopped since yesterday morning. I think I brought the rain back from Seattle, lol! Except it mostly drizzles there. But like Gayle, we really needed it

There has been some strange weather everywhere I think....rain/mudslides in Brazil, flooding in Austrailia. It's early AM and just can't think of the others right now.

Today we are expecting temps in the 30's, but later tonight rain moving in turning to sleet and ice. Hope it doesn't get too bad and then the temps are to drop into the single digits on Wednesday and Thursday.

My old bones just can't take much more of the cold so ....... COME ON SPRING!!

We still have snow on the ground. We turned off really cold after it snowed and so it hasn't had time to melt but today you can tell that it's finally leaving. The kids and Glen all went sledding the other day and had a blast. I copied some of Amy's videos on FB so you could see them!! I stayed in the house with Dean and made sure that I had hot water for hot cocoa and also made some no-bake cookies!!!

We still have a crapload of snow, of course It has snowed for the past few days straight, and this morning the windchill was -35 C (-31 F). Tomorrow it's finally supposed to warm up a bit!

-31....how in the world can you stand that? You must have layers and layers of clothing, gloves, coats...etc. on. I would think it would be too dangerous to even venture out in case of car trouble or just whatever.

I definitely need to head south...

My heater get put on full blast when its 30 degrees outside. I cannot do cold, I put pantyhose underneath my pants, muscle shirt, rg shirt, thermal, sweater, windbreaker and long jacket to walk outside. When I get in my car I have to wait for my legs to stop trembling to be able to drive. I'm very small frame weighting 93-95 lbs so I guess that has alot to do with it. I just wish the wind wouldn't blow.

Hahaha... okay I guess if any of you decide to come up here, come in the summer

Really, after it gets to a certain point of cold, it never feels any colder lol. The difference between -25 and -30 or -40 isn't really noticeable. Sometimes it gets to -50 or colder with windchill, and the only difference is that your eyes start tearing and the tears immediately freeze to your face! If you blink, sometimes your eyelashes freeze shut LOL. I used to figure skate from when I was about 4 years old until I was 18. They were all unheated rinks and no matter how cold it was, I'd just be wearing my warm-up tights and skirt, a sweater, and some mini gloves. Years of that built up my resistance and my legs don't really feel cold much anymore.

We just keep blankets in the car, a charged cell phone, and winter tires are necessary! It's winter for basically 6 months here and life just goes on Unless I'm outside for a long period of time, like shovelling the driveway or going out ice fishing or snowboarding, I don't really dress up. I just wear normal shoes, jeans, t-shirt or sweater, and a jacket.

Oh, but put me in a cool breeze on a summer day and I can't stop shaking! I guess it's the difference between "cool" and "cold". The "cool" bothers me so much more!

Well gee....I must not be much good for nothing...lol...I don't like it really cold, but I don't like it too hot either. How about mid 70's with a very light breeze and plenty of sunshine? That I can handle.

Sounds like perfection, Janet! A sweet ocean breeze wouldn't hurt either!

I have also gotten much more comfortable in the cold Linds. We are all so excited if it's in the high 20's, low 30's, and anything above 32 (Fahrenheit), is like summer! I would have to adjust a lot to your temps though!

What I don't like up here is that the sun doesn't shine in winter much. I have one of those lamps...maybe I'll use it. The good news is that it's already mid-January. Winter is over some time in April usually, with some sunny days earlier.

I am really confused about the weather all over the country. I listen to local TV, and it seems that it has been snowing all over the United States. I should listen better!

Spring will come, spring will come, spring will come

Winter here is usually over around the end of April. Last year we had two blizzards in April, but it warmed up a lot in May. Our May long weekend (around the 20th) is the unofficial "go to the lake and open your cabin for the season" weekend. Usually the ice isn't completely off the lakes until the end of May.

I was surprised when our Arizona people at work were asking how much sunlight we have in the winter because I didn't realize it was so different! In the winter it gets light around 9 am, and dark again by around 5 pm. I spend all my daylight hours at work It's dark when I come to work, dark when I leave work, and I have no windows! We don't have daylight savings in my province.

We are under a winter storm watch for tonight and tomorrow I think it is...plus the temps are suppose to drop to the single digits. Just checked again and it's a winter weather advisory starting tomorrow and ending on Friday. Just great....just in time for the weekend...okay...that's all I'm going to complain about it...lol.
