AChristmas Message.

Twas the month before Christmas*
*When all through our land,*
*Not a Christian was praying*
*Nor taking a stand.*
*See the PC Police had taken away,*
*The reason for Christmas - no one could say.*
*The children were told by their schools not to sing,*
*About Shepherds and Wise Men and Angels and things.*
*It might hurt people's feelings, the teachers would say*
* December 25th is just a ' Holiday '.*
*Yet the shoppers were ready with cash, checks and credit*
*Pushing folks down to the floor just to get it!*
*CDs from Madonna, an X BOX, an I-pod*
*Something was changing, something quite odd! *
*Retailers promoted Ramadan and Kwanzaa*
*In hopes to sell books by Franken & Fonda.*
*As Targets were hanging their trees upside down*
* At Lowe's the word Christmas - was no where to be found.*
*At K-Mart and Staples and Penny's and Sears*
*You won't hear the word Christmas; it won't touch your ears.*
*Inclusive, sensitive, Di-ver-si-ty*
*Are words that were used to intimidate me.*
*Now Daschle, Now Darden, Now Sharpton, Wolf Blitzen*
*On Boxer, on Rather, on Kerry, on Clinton !*
*At the top of the Senate, there arose such a clatter*
*To eliminate Jesus, in all public matter.*
*And we spoke not a word, as they took away our faith*
* Forbidden to speak of salvation and grace*
*The true Gift of Christmas was exchanged and discarded*
*The reason for the season, stopped before it started.*
*So as you celebrate 'Winter Break' under your 'Dream Tree'*
*Sipping your Starbucks, listen to me.*
*Choose your words carefully, choose what you say*
*Shout MERRY CHRISTMAS ,
not Happy Holiday !*
Please, all Christians join together and
wish everyone you meet during the
holidays a
MERRY CHRISTMAS
Christ is The Reason for the Christ-mas Season!

Isn't this soooo true!!! Thanks for sharing it Chris!!! You can ask so many children these days" what is the meaning of Christmas" and they will say presents! I was raised that "Christmas" was the day that "Jesus" was born. We celebrate the birth of Christ. That part means so little to so many nowadays! It's sad! To this day on Christmas Eve, my Dad, who is 72 still reads the story of the birth of Jesus to all the grandkids before they open presents. It's very heart warming to watch and listen to him read that story. The kids just love it and of course...so does he

Thanks for the poem. Doesn't it seem true? So many things are changing.....and quickly. It's hard for the Christians to stand up and make ourselves heard because who do you speak to? I just try to do my small part in the world around me. Merry Christmas, the day of Christ's birth!!!!!

That is a great poem! I forgot about the pc version of Christmas. Up here in the mountains, the word Christmas is used, and the fact that it is the celebration of the birth of Jesus is also used freely.

We have an old fashioned Christmas in my town, carols and all. I missed it last year, but I will report back to you about it this year. Main Street has beautiful wreaths (Christmas, not Holiday) on every light post. It is so beautiful! We also have a Christmas tree at the beginning of town on an small green which also has the names of veterans lost in war on a brass plate. I will take pictures.

I am not Christian. I was born Jewish, and I find this politically correct nonsense so offensive! Christmas is about the birth of Jesus, and why can't everybody share in that joy? When I was growing up, nobody thought Christmas was offending them. I would have been spanked if I had ever said anything bad about any other religion, race, culture, and so on. My Christian friends never found Chanukah offensive either. In fact, we were always jealous of each others' holidays. The Jewish kids always wanted Christmas trees, and the Christian kids wanted Chanukah's 8 days of presents.

I was especially lucky. We had both, and so did Jessie. My grandchildren had
both for a few years, and then they went with Christmas.

Give me a reason for joy and sharing, love and acceptance, and I will celebrate it!!!
