Question I don't know what happened!!

Last night, around 6 PM, I was telling my husband that I thought it was awful cold in the house. Neither he nor my son thought it was cold at all. Then I started with horrific cold chills, shaking at times almost violently. I did feel a little weezy in my stomach, but nothing real bad.

I decided to go to bed at 7 and had to have two more blankets put on me. I was so cold and shaking so bad. I fell asleep and then woke up around 10. My son heard me up and got up with me. Bless his heart, he took my temperature (101.5) and decided to stay up with me for awhile. I fell asleep on the couch and at 11:30 he woke me up to tell me he thought I needed to go back to bed, so I did. I did sleep till the alarm went off at 5:30 this morning, but I was soaked. My fever must have broke sometime shortly before the alarm.

I do have a little diahrrea today. Do you think I caught a "bug' somewhere or is it withdrawal? I haven't had a cigarette in over 24 hours. I don't feel back to normal yet....but sure wish all this would go away. I do still feel chilled, but I know it's not cold in here.

I had just a touch of the flu that was going around right after christmas & had the same symptoms. I was absolutely freezing couldn't get warm for nothing. Got a bit dizzy & had trouble focusing & then all the sudden I was hot & sweaty. Upset tummy check, diarrhea check. However, it could be withdrawal also. Good for you though for quiting. I quit smoking completely almost a year ago, but I was only a social smoker, so it wasn't quite the same.

Let's not say I'm quitting...it makes me nervous...LOLOL I am TRYING to quit. I hate them....I really truely hate them. When I feel that urge...I get sick in my stomach, so I don't get one. I had cut down considerably till the week before my MIL's passing and then I picked up again. So far though, so good. I'll just keep trying and taking one day at a time.

I did run the bus route this morning just fine, but I'm still freezing and I know it's not cold in here.

Janet, my hubby had the same chill and diarrhea just after Christmas. It lasted about 4 days. He never got really bad sick, just uncomfortable and tired.

BTW, my hubby kicked a 4 pack a day smoking habit about 10 years ago. He tried all the programs over several years trying to quit and finally quit cold turkey New Year's Eve of 1997. He said that you won't quit by trying. You have to decide that you are no longer a smoker. When you toss that last cigarette butt, you are no longer a smoker. Once you get that mind set, it's over. That is who you WERE. You are no longer someone who smokes and is trying to quit. You are someone who used to smoke and has quit.

Wishing you the best. BTW, my inlaws quit by praying that God would make them so sick that it would be disgusting to them and they would have to. They both caught the worst case of flu that they had ever had and were unable to smoke for several days. They both quit. My MIL insisted that God had answered their prayers. Perhaps he had.

Oh Janet, I'm sorry that you're not feeling well. It sure sounds like a "bug" to me. At least the weekend is here and you'll have time to relax and snuggle up in a blanket and get better. So far we've been really blessed and haven't caught anything. Take care of yourself.

It took me about a month to quit smoking. My husband has never smoked and didn't like the smell. So I had to quit becuase it was really bothering him. I didn't quit cold turkey it was way to hard. I slowly quit. I cut back till I had completly quit. Like I said it didn't happen over night. You really have to have a reason to quit. I quit about 13 years ago and have never started back. Once you get it all out of your system just the smell of the smoke will really bother you.
Good Luck!!

I wanted to add that I never had withdrawl symptoms like that. It sounds like you have a nasty bug. I hope you feel better soon.

I really think, like mosta of you, that it is just a "bug." I still have the diahrrea a little bit, but the chills and fever are gone. NOW, I have a little of an upset tummy, but I think it's because Rick is going to get his driver's license today and I'm a nervous wreck over this.

Sometimes I feel like a neurotic nutcase....LOLOL I know it will all be fine, but man....I wish they didn't have to grow up so fast.

Your not a nutcase. You're a caring, loving mom. I'm tearing up thinking about how they do grow up, and how you are feeling.

Have a good day sharing this day with him. It's a special one!!!!

There was a nasty spell of noro viruses around here in December. That's what having unseasonably warm weather usually brings in Wisconsin. YUCK!

I'm glad you're feeling batter Janet!
