Single?
Is anyone out there actually single? Anyone who read my last post would know that I now am. If anyone out there is in the same boat as me, please remind me of some good things about the single life! I am giving myself until the end of the weekend to feel sorry for myself. I come home from work and cry as soon as I walk in the door. This has got to stop! I lost my boyfriend and my best friend in the same second, and I'm not allowing myself to talk to him for at least 2 weeks so I can try to get over him faster. A friend from back home told me to try an internet dating site, and i would feel better knowing i can move on when i'm ready, but having over 150 hits and 50 messages in the first 3 days from guys really close to me just creeped me out and I'm not ready for this at all. Can anyone tell me how to feel better? I feel like i'm never coming out of this depression.

Girl you will. It will take time, and it's good to cry sometimes. You are being very strong by not communicating with him. I know that must be so hard. I'm not single but I CAN remember some great things about being single.
You do what you want when you want You don't have to worry about anyone but YOU Lots of GIRLY time! Free to flirt Get to know yourself on a deeper level You're an awesome girl so you won't have problems getting a new bf. I know you're not even thinking about that now, but just get in a slump about no one want to be with you cause that's not true!! I hope you start to feel better soon!

You probably don't think what you said means as much as it does. I read that right before I went out to grab some stuff at the store, mostly stuff my brother wanted =/ But the whole way driving there I was like "I am so much more fun when I'm single!" And it's true. I was single for 3 years before I dated my ex because I WANTED to be. I am more outgoing, I go for what I really want. I can be the life of the party. I think that attracted him to me. But for the past 9 months everytime I went out with my bf I sat at a table with him and his friends all night at the bar, talking when one of them talked to me. Last weekend, my first single weekend in ages, I drank too much tequila and danced on speakers with girls all night long and had a blast!
So now that I just got home, I'm going to wax my legs, which I was doing before for my bf, and I will now do for me! I bought some hair products for my new cut, and some hair dye to change it up a little (I think I look sexier with darker hair anyway)! I also got some new nail polish to top it all off! My brother is out tonight with his friends so I've got the house to myself. Let girly night begin! And thanks for the reminder that the world isn't over when a guy isn't around. I just lost myself and that made me remember how fun and independent I used to be, and WILL be again!

Aw Lindsay! I am SO happy to see ur post. Tequila, nail polish, dancing, waxing, hair dye, sounds awesome. Is'nt it so great to do something totally different with your hair and to feel incredibly sexy!?! I'm happy that you are getting out there. I know you go through ups and downs, but it sounds like you are doing a great job of keeping your head up for now...just keep it up. It's awsome you have a wonderful gf that took you out on the town for dancing and drinks! It sounds like that was much needed!!! Good for you!

Lindsey, sorry you are going through such a hard time. Breakups can be very tough, but you are worth so much more than you know!! You need to get some wine, or something stronger if necessary and have a Sex & the City marathon!!! You'll appreciate how wonderful you are as a single girl and just how much fun that can be!! Hope you have a better day tomorrow!!

I'm so glad I have you guys here to support me. I feel so alone sometimes. Since my ex is going home to visit his parents and pick up his new truck this weekend, I e-mailed one of his friends (the only one I know how to contact without having to contact my ex first) and said since I won't be seeing him or anyone else for a long while, we should hang out on Saturday and he agreed. I met him on the same trip that I met my ex on so we've been good friends for awhile. And since I KNOW they'll end up talking to my ex about it, I'm going to look SO good and be SO happy and have a great time!

MAKE HIM JEALOUS. That's the best revenge and it feels sooooo good doing it!!! Show him that you don't need him, and let him know full well that the worst decision he ever made in his life was letting you go.
You're a woman, you're young, you're gorgeous, nothin stands in your way. Do what you want, when you want, with who ever you want, and go where ever you want. That's what's so great about being single, you don't have to constantly worry about another person. And I know it's cliche, but it's usually the great guys that come along when you're not looking and when you actually don't want to be in a relationship. You'll go on a date or two for fun and then who knows where it'll go from there!! Just live life, that's what being single is all about, living life and enjoying it.

GO OUT, and ENJOY life, i can't say this enough to all the single guys, and girls out there. Go places, see things, travel, do everything you want before you get attached.
And Lindsey, you need to show this guy you can do without him, and we ALL know you can do it! Live each day as if its your last, enjoy the little things, and get to know the person in you. Dont go looking for the perfect guy, they come when you least expect it, and you know this too!

I like what is written here!!! It's so very true. Another thing too is tell yourself it's ok to be single. To NOT HAVE TO HAVE ANYONE FOR YOUR HAPPINESS AND WELL BEING. Sure, the company of others to love and share with is very special. However, being alone one should learn that it too is very fullfilling and content.

Man oh man....the things I miss about my single days....*sigh*......Don't get me wrong, I love my husband and love being married but my single days were SO.MUCH.FUN!
-only have to worry about yourself -if you want to eat chips and dip for dinner, you can do that and not worry about what your hubby or BF is going to eat -flirt with whomever you want whenever you want -you can pick up and leave to go on vacation at a moments notice without worrying about another person's schedule -spend all of your extra money on YOURSELF and not on someone else -when you go to the movies, you can watch a chick flick and not have to hear someone gripe about it I could go on!!!! hahahaha You are young...enjoy your single days....you have the rest of your life to be married.

All the advice in the previous posts are so true!! No woman on this earth should EVER feel that they have to have a man. That is why some woman are never happy. You've got to be happy with yourself, love yourself and know that you are a great person, a great WOMAN on your own. Don't be in a rush to get into another relationship...spread your charm around, have a great time.
