ahhhhh ANTS!!!!

ok I can't figure it out. All food in my house is sealed & put away but under one window a stream of ants is coming in. There is a heater under the window but it is off. Any thing attract ants other than food that I might be missing? & any good ways to keep them out?

Yuck! I hate bugs of any kind! I would just check again to make sure everything is sealed tightly and then find some kind of bug spray or something that you know the little ones can't get into. Good luck!

Maybe ant boxes? I tried those before, but they didnt work for me. An older lady told me to place 2 copper pennies by the door, i did that because i was desperate, and it worked. Also heard, sprinkling flower helps.

Liquid Chlorine Bleach will kill ants quicker than any poison I've tried. I mix it half and half with water in a spray bottle and let 'em have it. It not only kills the ants you see, it discourages those coming behind from coming in.
It's a very cheap fix!

Traci , every Spring I get carpenter ants and it annoys the heck of me. They come from outside and I see them in my kitchen. I have had the exterminator come and that has helped but I will try want Tink suggested if I see them soon...

We have fire ants down here, and they are attracted to electric motors, like in your refrigerator or freezer. They also like, I know, this is gross, dirty clothes. If you spilled food on a top, they will eat the food and the place on the top where it was. Nasty creatures. We us Amdro ant bait outside where their nests are to get rid of them.

Some ants are looking for something as simple as a drink of water.

Good luck controlling them. I hate bugs in the house, but in warm climates, they are always sneeking around.

We've had ants coming in this year too. I'm finding them on my kitchen counter and that's the only place I see them. I keep my counters very clean, so I'm not sure what is attracting them. I used this stuff from Wal Mart in the lawn and garden section. I just sprinkled it right up next to the house (outside) and it's been working. If they start coming in again, I will try Tink's suggestion.
