Favorite scents?

What are your favorite scents?

I love the smell of lilacs, and lavendar. (Suave has a naturals shampoo that combines these 2 scents! It's to die for!)
I find the scent of mulberry relaxing and my mouth waters from the smell of frying bacon or baking bread.
So what scents really grab your attention?

I love the scent of jasmine. I have some other aromatherapy oils that I use to make my own perfume. They are white lotus (sexy), bergamot (light and reminds me of sunshine), tea tree (very mystical), and ylang ylang (also sexy).

I usually buy a jasmine plant around now because the smell when it blooms is just incredible.

Good thread Tink!

My favorite scent is roses. In high school I had some Avon perfume that was Roses, Roses and I loved it. I think that the smell takes me back to that time. I also love lilacs too.

As for favorite smells, I'd say that homemade bread fresh from the oven is one of my absolute favorites. Also a thick, juicy steak on the grill!!! I'm making myself hungry!!!!!

The smell of a little baby after a bath. The air outside after a rain. The smell of my husband when he's all dressed up.

You know, I miss out on a lot when it comes to smells. I don't smell things very well. I can smell the freshness after a rain, oranges when you peel them and poop. That's about it.

My sense of smell is not so hot either anymore, but I do like lavendar, rose and other floral scents. Very clean scents are nice also, like linen & fresh air. Fresh cut grass. Things baking in the oven are nice, and yes, my hubby's cologne.

I don't wear any scents anymore. When I wear something that my family likes, they tell me one day that they don't like it any more, so I just stopped. I didn't like my daughters having unpleasant memories of my cologne when I woke them up in the mornings.

Judy, how do you make your own perfumes using oils? I may try that if the scents are delicate and not overpowering.

Marilyn,

Go to a shop that sells essential oils, (aromatherapy oils) and choose the ones that you like. I take almond oil, also bought from one of these shops, and just mix in 10-20 drops of whatever scents I'm in the mood for. I start with about 9 drops and then see if I need more. It's totally up to you what and how much to mix together. I use a very small little bottle with a cap to mix them in. I got these online because I used to give these as gifts, but you can find something glass.

There are books on the healing powers of each oil. If you want, I'll look up scents for you.
