Pics of Loved Ones Who've Passed Away

Seeing that Angela's grandfather passed away this week, I was thinking maybe we should post pics of loved ones who have passed away in their memory... It might be a little hard but when Grandpa died, i felt that looking at pics of him took the hurt away a little!!

My grandpa Vincent passed away August 17, 2006.. I loved him so much.. We were very close!!

Pic 1: Grandpa on his Last Christmas Morning

Pic 2: Gramps being silly

Pic 3: Gramps and Me on his 85th b-day (only 1.5 months before he passed away)

Brooke,

Thanks for sharing photos of you and your grandpa. I for one never knew my grandparents on both sides. I feel like I was cheaped. It is special to have such a special bond with grandparents. Your grandfather looked like a very sweet loving man, glad that you got to spend time and know him into your adult years.

Oh Brooke, I'm so sorry you lost your grandfather as well. It made me so sad to see your pictures... I hope this year has lessened your pain, but I'm so glad you and your family are doing things in your grandpa's memory. *hugs*

I have already posted my pictures recently so I will leave this thread for others who haven't.

Your grandfather looks like a fun, amazing man. What a blessing to have someone like that in your life.

If I had to choose just one person who has passed to memorialize, it would be in memory of Dustin.
Dustin was like member of our family and did live with us for quite some time. He was a loving, wild child, who left a huge hole in all of our hearts when he died. He was 19 yrs old, and died suddenly in an accident. He's been gone almost 2 years and I still ache when I think of him. I thank God that we knew him and that the last time I saw him was just a couple days before he died and we parted with a hug. He was and always will be, one of "my kids".

Im' sorry about your grandfather. At my age, I've lost just too many people in my life to post pictures, plus it would be a lot of work scanning them all in.

This thread is making my heart ache. My sincere condolences go out to all those who have lost loved ones recently and in the past. I am so incredibly close to my family that I cannot imagine the day when I will lose one of them. It makes me weep just thinking about it...........

*hugs to Brooke & Tink* I'm so sorry to both of you. Brooke your grandfather does look like loads of fun. The memorial you did for him was a wonderful thought.
Tink I can't imagine how it would feel to lose a child even one that we didn't give birth to.
My thoughts are with you both.

I think it's good to remember those who've passed. They need to be remembered. You did a good thing even if it doesn't feel like it to you...

Angela,

You are right.. It feels so good to remember loved ones who have past away.. Time heals all wounds and all hurt.. Even though its been almost a year I have times when I just start crying.. I know its ok though!! I know I have a wonderful guardian angel looking down at me always!! It makes it easier to talk and think about this stuff with such a wonderful group of women!! I am so glad i found this board
