Thank you Janet. I gather all the supplies from the hobby store. Card stock, ribbons, embellishments, etc. Then sit, gather ideas, and start cutting and glueing away, LOL.

It really is relaxing Janet and Id bet you would enjoy it. Try it sometime!!

I know I already commented in your other thread, but I just had to say that these are lovely as well. You did an awesome job!

I may have to ask for a kit for Christmas. I never want for much, so this will give someone something to purchase if they so desire. If not, I'll try and get one myself after Christmas.

It's really fun Janet - the kits are great to "get ya started". I do hope you try the card making. It's a quiet time to sit down, surround yourself in the thoughts of who you are making the card for, and takes you away. It's so easy to get wrapped up in the daily mumbo jumbo negative stuff of your own stesses and crud...But when you take the time to sit for an hour or more, and put all the focus into creating something special for someone it's a really good feeling. It's a 100 % happy time!!

Thanks for the memories, Sheryl. My mother was constantly making all her own stationary. I have been learning again how unique to our North American and perhaps Western European cultures such projects are. So many parts of the world, crafts are not valued as an expression of the individual nor are they seen as a compliment to receive them. Yes, looking at your work, all we see is beauty and creation, and we feel pride at having such a talented friend. We are truly fortunate.

Interesting Katepoet. What parts of the world do not value such expressions of crafts or compliments? I've never heard of such. Possibly - LOL the same culture which finds burpring out loud and in front of others after they've eaten someone's home cooked meal?

That is an expression of gratitude for the cook's creativity! A good, hearty belch is
just a very loud thank you.
