About time!

We live in a very rural area, so things get here later than most places... and things end up costing us more than they should because of it.

I called Centurytel (our phone provider) today to check on whether they'd gotten any new programs available in our area yet and was pleasantly surprised! I can finally get unlimited long distance... (we'd been paying 5 cents per minute) and wireless! I can finally get a family cell phone plan for Greg and I with 2 fee phones, free mobile to mobile, no roaming and more minutes than I think we'll use for a decent price.

Right now it looks like this will save me $50 - $100 a month.

Sigh... about time we're included in the promotions. lol

That's great Tink. I also have CenturyTel. We don't have many options out my way yet due to it being rural. No wireless, no call waiting, nothing, LOL. These people are way behind the times here.

We actually use the following phone providers just in our house here...

CenturyTel
Verizon
Mci Local
Mci Business
At & T (cell phones)

Oh and Hughes for wireless if ya wanna count that.

Somewhere I think I'm getting screwed $$ bigtime.

Sheryl, you DO get ripped off big time when it's all separate like that. I know we sure have. It's frustrating when you see everyone else getting better options for less money! It does pay to keep checking their site and calling them though 'cause they do keep changing and adding more service areas and like I said, till now we couldn't get any of this either.

Now my DSL and unlimited Long distance is cheaper bundled together than my phone and dsl were before when I paid for my LD minutes separately.

And don't even get me started on what dh has wasted in roaming charges alone on his old cell plan! But being a semi driver he HAS to have a cell phone. And I've never had one because I just couldn't justify the cost or see a real need. It will be nice now though to finally be able to talk with dh for free on it and just to carry for emergencies.

We are also getting 2 free plain jane Motorola flip phones just for signing up. If we didn't already have Dish Network I could have also saved more by getting that through Centurytel.

Someday I will have to haul out all the paperwork and call the companies to compare. Honestly, I don't even remember how we ended up w/ all the companies.

Funny....We got a scam (or atleast I think it was) call last week on our business line. (MCI & CenturyTel) Well...hubby answered the phone and I was in the other room listening to his side of the call.

I can hear him give this person on the line some of our additional phone numbers and what I feel is personal info.

I'm yelling from the other room (cuz I was too darn lazy to get up) "Honneeyyyy they are just wanting to sell ya something, hang up". Over and over again as he continues to give out info i continue on yelling "wife stop do that attitude comments". FINALLY I couldn't take it anymore and got up to about force him off the phone. *grunt*

He realizes once this person asks him for our Federal Tax Id # that something just aint right. *sigh* So he hangs up the phone.

I ask him what the heck that was all about. He begins to tell me that it was AT & T wanting to give us 6 months worth of over charges, but they first needed our Fed Id tax #.

First off....After I begin to scream and yell trying to explain that it was a scammer and why would he be so silly (trying to contain my choice of words here of what I really wanna say) he'd give out so much info...Then I end it with
"Honey, we don't even have AT & T for our business lines, just our cell phones".
UGH!!!

So, it must be bad when hubby can't even remember which phone company goes to what lines in this house. LOL!! It get's sorta confusing having business lines mixed w/ personal lines here at home.

That's what I'm paying with the new plans too Judy. $79.99 for the 2 cell phones and program; $69.99 for the dsl and house phone with unlimited long distance.

It's a good buy! Iwish Verizon had cable. I'd switch to them and get the free 19" HDTV!

Sheryl - hang in there - it'll happen.
