Prayers Needed Please

I don't know if you remember mentiong that my daughter Denise is going to be taking an admissions test for optometry school. She is to take it this coming Friday. Here is a quick synopsis . My daughter is a jr. in college and she went through this program where she had to have all her credits done in three years as oppose to 4 yrs. This will be her last semster and God willing she is done. If she passes she has 4 yrs. in optomerty school.

Now the hard part her admissions test is set for Friday, being she is going through this program, she needs to take the test earlier than the rest of students coming from a 4 yr. college. So in reality she only had two weeks to study for this test. I signed her up with a tutor and after her finals were through she started this prep class. Now mind you she has taken all her finals and passed. Didn't have any Christmas break she has been stuyding 10 hrs. a day for the last two weeks.

I am so worried about her because she has been told that she is not allowed to use a calculator for the test. This is not fair for her guidance councelor never prepared her. She has been taught using a calculator. Now the test has many math problems and of course science. But she is so stressed trying to learn the forumulas. I am worried about her. She is so dedicated and wants to pass on the first try. If she doesn't pass she crammed her classes for nothing and will have to try again. She also made an honor society in Science. She is a good student but now I am so stressed for her...

Please, keep her in your prayers that she will pass this test next Friday.. I believe in the power of prayers and believe me if anyone needs to pass it is my daughter for she is so dedicated.... I appreciate it ....

Oh Gina, please don't let your daughter know you're stressed, it will probably stress her more. Of course I'll add your daughter to my prayer list.

I do think it's unfair she won't be able to use the calculator as she has been taught. Is she absolutely sure she won't be able to use it? Is there someone else she can ask? I would hate for her to be stressed for misinformation.

Janet, I am really upset is because my daughter is cramming 4 yrs of work into a few weeks. The prep course she is taking runs for 4-6 wks. but being she has to take the exam early it only gave her 2 wks of prep. time. Impossible to do.
Her friends who took the test two weeks ago passed but they took this course over the summer. She never told me that I would have made her do it back then, but she also was taking classes so she has been on overload..

The problem here is the time factor, she didn't have enough time with this program. If she were able to do the test with calculator she would ace it. She has been crying and I have been telling her that she will pass, if not she will take it over and be ready for it... It is killing me for I can't help her.. I am praying so much.

My heart goes out to her Gina. I know she'd like to ace it the first time, but if she doesn't, like you said she can take it over. Poor girl...make sure she gets plenty of rest Gina.

I would call her instructor or someone who would know and find out for sure if she gets to use the calculator or not. It sounds like she is really stressed out about it anyway because of being scrunched for time. I will be keeping her in my prayers. It's so hard on us parents to watch our children go through these things and not be able to do anything about it.

She'll do fine Gina! I do think it's ridiculous about the calculators, but she's studied so much already, as long as she can remember the equations, she's good to go.

She's in my prayers! She sounds like a really great kid. She deserves the best.

She and you are in my prayers. All we can do is hope for the best and deal with whatever happens. We can't do it for them.
