I'm going to be an Aunt

I've never been an aunt before so I pretty excited. I have a feeling I'm going to spoil the little one cause I love to buy little kid toys.

My husband's little brother's girlfriend is going to have a baby. They've been going together for a while & he's 23 & almost done with school so the accidentally pregnancy thing is not a big deal. Plus he's a hard worker & I know he will do whatever necessary to take care of the little one. I'm just excited. I'm gonna be aunt nikki to someone, it feels pretty neat.

That's exciting! It's always nice to add a new baby to a family!!! And you're going to be an aunt!!!!!

My husband has a little sister that is a year older than my son, so she was an aunt at the age of 1!!!!! (It was quite funny when people asked if she was my daugher and I'd tell them that she was my sister-in-law!!!!) And my youngest daughter was an aunt at the age of 4!!! (MY kids are 17 1/2 years apart, from oldest to youngest)

Congratulations!!! How wonderful. I became an Aunt when I was two years old, so I don't remember that of course, but when my brother had my neice...what a feeling. She's still my favorite little girl at 32 years old.

It's great to be an Aunt! You get to really spoil them and you can hang out with the children, take them fun places, and just enjoy them!

Congratulations!

You're right and then get in trouble. When my niece was little I would have her out and we would bake all kinds of stuff. She had a ball, flour on the floor crumbs on the floor what a mess. Then I got in trouble by my sister-in-law. She wanted me to stop, because Teressa was wanting to do that at home and she didn't want to clean up the mess off the floor. I was very upset over this because she had linoleum just like me and it cleans up!!

Oh and by the way....we kept right on baking!!

Aunt trouble is to be expected! No, Grandma trouble is different - you do have to be careful. It is sometimes a thin wire you're walking.

Aunts, on the other hand, are expected to be "cool."

I'm so happy for you! My oldest daughter and her hubby waited 10 years until they had a baby. I remember how excited my other two daughters were to finally become aunts. Of course "Olivia" is 7 now, and she thinks her aunts are the best.
When Olivia was learning to talk she called her Aunt Nikki, KiKi which just melted Nikki's heart. She called her Aunt Krissy, Kissy. They still go overboard on gifts for her, but that's an aunts perogative.
Oh, by the way, I'm Kathy, , nice to meet you. I'm new here!

Kathy,

You're not new anymore! You jumped right in and now you've pretty much become one of us.

It surely didn't take you long!

I don't know how often I'll see it since they don't live here, but I am super excited. I love to buy toys. I am such a child at heart. Before too long I might have one of my own (not preggers, just thinking about it) & then they'd be close to the same age & can play together at family things. It'll be need.

Aww, how exciting! I definitely remember that feeling. I became an aunt when I was in 1st grade. I told my teacher every day "he's not here yet, but maybe tomorrow." I remember being SO excited and I know you are too. You'll be a great aunt! Congrats!

My husband has a sister that all the kids think is the greatest aunt. When she comes home all the kids want to be with her and she sends little gifts once in a while to them. I know that one time she sent Jaci a little plastic fly. It's been frozen in ice cubes, placed in drinks, and in all kinds of other places. She usually just sends little neat things, not anything that's expensive. Even if you don't live near your neice you can still be a special aunt to her!
