Boy crazy!!!?!??!??!?!?!!?!!!
yesterday, I got an email from my daughters teacher. It said that she is having some trouble with her not "focusing" in class because she seems a little "boy crazy" OMG she is 6 years old!!!!!!!!!!! I am sooooooooo in trouble. I just DREAD the years to come.
I had a talk with her about how important school is and that she needs to be sure to focus on her work and not her "friends". I just have NO idea how to handle this...she is soooooooo young!!!! she's my BABY!!!!!!!!

Awww, don't worry, this too will pass. Melissa had a boyfriend in kingergarten. They even got in trouble for kissing at school and were talking about getting married some day. We and his parents did not know what to do. The teacher told us at least she had picked a really nice boy, from a very nice family. Well he threw Melissa over for Brittany which broke her heart at the time. She did not have another boyfriend until middle school.

Oh wow, you've asked for it ....LOL...here comes another story!!!
I have girl that rides my bus, this year she is in the 7th grade. When she was in 2nd grade, she was sooo boy crazy. She would always come up and ask me who 'he' was or what was 'his' name. They were usually Jr high boys. One day she came up and said that this one boy was so cute and I said "Jennifer, you sure love the boys, I'm gonna tell this guy how cute you think he is" and she got all red in the face, mind you a 2nd grader and put her hands over her face and said: "Oh Janet, if you do that I will die, I will just fall down and die" and I laughed so hard I thought I would fall out of my seat. I told her not to worry I wouldn't tell. She still loves the boys, but she's a good girl.

I wouldn't worry about it too much unless it effects her school work. You might need to remind her how important to do a good job on her work. Keep the communication open with her and know what's going on in her life. I have a 15 year old that still comes home from school and tells me what all has gone on in her day. We have a good relationship because of our little chats.

They're so cute when they're little like that. Jessie had a boyfriend, Anthony, in nursery school. When they took their naps, they would lie on their mats and hook pinkies. He gave her a present in a box, and called one day. I listened in on the other phone. He told her he loved her, but she just kept on talking.
Jessie did not grow out of being boy crazy, but she still did well in school.

Well toodles, has your daughter got married yet?...LOL. Just saw that someone brought this thread back up, so I reread it. Very cute.
I do hope your daughter is 'focusing' more on school work and not the boys..LOL

I went to my grandaughters school for grandparents day. She is in 2nd grade. I had been told by a little bird that she has a bit of a crush on a boy who sits next to her... so while in the classroom, I saw this little prince charming. I whispered in Paige's ear "OOOOOOHHHH He's cute! No wonder you like school!" She got all red faced and said "Nana! He's going to hear you!" She still manages to do well in school though. lol

I think I would handle this in a different way. I would seriously try to nip it in the bud quick. I have a 10 year old daughter who likes boys and thinks they are cute and I have told her that is fine. She will be 11 in August. I have also told her that it goes NO farther than that beause she is still too little to be thinking about kissing boys. I am a Sub-Teacher at her school and I am shocked by some of the behavior that the younger ones display. Some are so boy crazy that it is really scary.
My daughter use to be friends with a girl who was 2 years younger than she. Well this little girl came over to have a sleepover and all she wanted to do was call her boyfriend and at 10 PM on top of it. UMM HELLO.... I told her that to begin with she was not playing on the phone all night and another thing that she was just too young (7 1/2 at the time) to be messing around with boys. All she could talk about was her what her BF had bought her or that she liked kissing him... Well I made sure that the friendship came to an end. She has only gotten worse and now has some what of a "rep" even at her young age. The kids are just growing up so fast these days that it is scary. Girls will drive you crazy won't they! I sure know that mine is. Things will work out I am sure. I think just letting her know that little girls don't act certain ways help a lot.

ACTUALLY...she is letting her school work slip a lot...but I am not being told it is because she is boy crazy LOL she SEEMS to have gotten past that...but she is letting other things keep her from doing her work...I'm still trying to figure out what those "other" things are. She is going to be the death of me LOL

I hope she learns to focus on her school work. They can drive you crazy between this and that!
Then, they finally grow up and are okay, and give you grandchildren. Now granchildren are such a blessing, but they're also a new batch of kids to worry over! It does not end EVER! Love does not come cheap!
