Thumbs up Before I Was A MoM!

Before I Was A Mom

Before I was a Mom I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.
I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.
I never thought about immunizations.
Before I was a Mom - I had never been puked on.
Pooped on.
Chewed on.
Peed on.

I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.
I slept all night.
Before I was a Mom I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.
Or give shots.
I never looked into teary eyes and cried.
I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.
Before I was a Mom I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put them down.
I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.
I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.
I never knew that I could love someone so much.
I never knew I would love being a Mom.
Before I was a Mom - I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.

I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.
I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.
I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom - I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.
I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.
I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

I love being a Mom but I would trade almost anything for just one more day with each of my kids as babies. I would just love to cuddle and snuggle up with them just one more time! Shoot, now I have tears in my eyes.

I'd never thought of that. Shucks, now I'm crying, too. Wouldn't that be special??? And if you could go back with the knowledge you have now, how you would cherish each moment of that day!!!!

Ok ladies help out a new mom here, if you had a chance to go back in time with your children what would you do different?

As you ladies know, i'm trying my best with my son, to spend quality time with him, i even got Dad to stay home 2 nights a week, plus Sunday afternoon, I try to play with him, tech him colors, letters, where his nose, eyes, he got the ears down, I was so excited!!

Let me know what would you change ???

Thumbs up

Haley, I have to think about this one.
For sure, I'd have taken the words, "I'm to busy right now" out of my vocabulary.
I would have stopped whatever I was doing to listen to their little stories, instead of talking on the phone and worrying so much about how the house looked.

I think this little poem says it all:

Mother, O Mother, come shake out your cloth,

Empty the dustpan, poison the moth,

Hang out the washing, make up the bed,

Sew on a button and butter the bread.

Where is the mother whose house is so shocking?

She’s up in the nursery, blissfully rocking.

Oh, I’ve grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue,

Lullabye, rockabye, lullabye loo.

Dishes are waiting and bills are past due

Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo

The shopping’s not done and there’s nothing for stew

And out in the yard there’s a hullabaloo

But I’m playing Kanga and this is my Roo

Look! Aren’t his eyes the most wonderful hue?

Lullabye, rockaby lullabye loo.

The cleaning and scrubbing can wait till tomorrow

But children grow up as I’ve learned to my sorrow.

So quiet down cobwebs; Dust go to sleep!

I’m rocking my baby and babies don’t keep.
