How much sleep

How many hours of sleep do you require in a night to fuction at your best? I can get buy on 9-9.5, but I prefer 10. I know that seems like a lot, but according to my mom I've always slept alot. I'm just thinking about it today because I only got 8 hours of sleep last night & man am I dragging. It makes me fearful of having kids.....i don't handle sleep deprivation well, I get very very emotional.

I'm usually good with 6 on workdays, but then sleep in a couple extra on weekends. I get way too many aches and pains if I stay in bed too long! My thing is not how much I sleep but how well I sleep - I'm a very very light sleeper, potty breaks, hubby snores, doggies wiggle, outside lights come on, a car on the road, etc.

I find the longer I sleep the more tire I am ..lol does that make sense ? I usually get 7 hrs. if I am not stressed or anxious about something.. I can function on 6 hrs. to. They say the older you get the less sleep you need...

6-7 hours will do me. It all depends on my son Micah, if he gets up in the middle of the night or not. He's my alarm clock now!

I used to be the same way..I HAD to get 10 hours or else I would be miserable and get physically sick. I still need about 8 or I can't function. Anything less and Im completely worthless!

I can function with 8 hours or less. Any more than that, then I am like Gina. I'm just too tired if I get too much sleep.

Don't be afraid to have kids, believe me you will adjust to function on only 4-5 hours of sleep, i work 8.5 hours a day on less sleep then that, then go home and put a second shift in, but then again i live on coffee, and star bucks, with an extra shot of caffine in it,, boy are those good...
Once you see your beautiful baby, all of this is so worth it, ask any mother on this site and they will tell you the same thing.. My Grandmother always use to tell us, she will get plenty of sleep when she dies! God bless her soul! Smart lady.

I require at least 16 hours of sleep, since I lead a double life.

Just kidding, I usually like to sleep 8 hours, but lately can only sleep 5 hours then I'm wide awake.

I have always gotten up around 5-5:30 no matter how late I went to bed. Since school has been out, I've been sleeping till 6:30-7:00. I think I could possibly sleep longer, but my baby Joey wakes me up by scratching my cheek and then laying into my neck. I love that little dog.

I've never been a morning person....it's a major undertaking to drag myself out of bed at 7:15 every morning. Part of it could be though that I'm not at all satisfied with my job & i dread going to work. They say that can make a difference. All my friends laugh at me because on work nights I have to be in bed between 9 & 10. And anyone who dares to call me after nine will feel my wrathe.

I'm not a very good morning person either! I go to bed anywhere from 11:00 to 1:00 and can get up anywhere from 7:00 to 9:00 the next morning. Most mornings Reuger starts making sounds to let me know that he needs outside so I get up and let him out then lay on the couch for another hour or so.
