Dry Eyes
Does anybody suffer with dry eyes? Do you use an eye drop?
The opthamologist gave me a sample (Systane Lubricant Eye Drops) yesterday and told me I should buy some sort of Artificial Tears.

I've not had that problem Sandy. Hopefully someone here can recommend something that will help.

only when my allergies act up, like today, my eyes get dry, puffed and ichy.
Plus my working in a dust pit don't help me either.. Do you have allergies?

I only have some tree and weed allergies (April and October) and I take Claritin and Flonase for that.

I'm having trouble with dry eyes too. I used to wear contacts but with my eyes being so dry I can't even put them in any more. I've used all kinds of eye drops and even found an eye gel that I like at Wal-mart. It was pretty pricey but it's what I like the best. The eye doctor has me on Restasis but it's really expensive to be on, even though I only use it every other day. I need to go back to the eye doctor because I'm due for an appointment. I've started taking vitamin a because I read that it will help with eye dryness but so far I can't tell anything. If you find a product that helps you I'd appreciate hearing about it. Good luck!!

I bought "Thera Eyes" and it helps, but doesn't seem to last long. Of course, the directions are "Apply as needed".

I'm right there with you. My eyes are so dry that at night when i wake up i have to rub them to even get them to open. It's not fun. I have used that sustane
also but it didn't even touch it. I've tried alot of different ones. Right now I use Bausch & lomb Soothe XP. It's not cheap either but it's working better so far than the others have. My eyes are still dry but not as bad. Good luck and please do share if you find one that really works for you.

I had a real problem with dry eyes, especially after my first lasik surgery. It really felt like there was acid in my eyes. They were always red, so I looked like I was either drunk or drugged.
I went through every treatment available at that point, including little lubricating round things that you put into your bottom eyelid. It takes most of the day for them to melt so they were a relief. But, I stopped using them when one popped itself out of my right eye when I was talking to someone. She didn't say anything becsuse I think she wasn't sure she saw it. Things never pop out of people's eyes,. Anyway - to make a long story short, I have been on twice/day restasis for abiout 9 years, It was an experimental drug at the time. It was originally made for dogs dry eyes, After using it for a while, your own eyes begin to make more tears. It is expensive, but for me, it was a necessity. My eye doctor also likes Systane for "as needed." He also wants me to take flax seed oil. Good luck!
