Did anybody try new recipes?

I tried Janet's cornflake cookie recipe and it was a big HIT! None of my family had eaten them before and they really liked them. ME TOO!

I also fixed the corn casserole and everyone loved it.

Those are the only 4womenTalk recipes that we tried for Christmas. We did use some other new recipes - some were good, some not as much!

We didn't try any new recipes. My family likes to stick with the same ol' things when it comes to the holidays. I'm not one to try too many new recipes but every once in a while I'll get in the mood and try several. My daughter, Amy, is always trying new recipes. Sometimes she'll send over a sample. Yumm!!!

I made Janets cookies and they were yummy. I make my mom's scalloped corn.

Mom use to make some potatoe pancakes that no one in our family has been able to master this recipe, it was one that she just used a pinch of this and that nothing written down. And we all loved these. Mom has a couple of other things that she use to fix that i have tried and it just never taste as good as the way she cooked them.

Oh i also made Janets crock pot dressing, very good also.

My husband was VERY upset with us, because he too, like the same holiday food. BUT we just decided that this year he could suck it up and be happy (he wasn't though - but his sweet sisters cooked him a Christmas dinner when we went to Oklahoma). He loved the new recipe for sweet potatoes and he loved the corn casserole. He didn't eat any of the cornflake cookies, due to his diabetes.
