What did you get for Christmas???

OK everyone, what did ya get????

Of course, I got a new house so Gary was not supposed to get me ANYTHING!!! But of course, he did. A couple of weeks ago we were browsing all the thrift stores looking for a used office chair for his wood shop. We came across a tall lighted curio cabinet. The glass is curved on the sides and it has a mirror in the back. It was only $200. I shopped for this type of curio cabinet a few years ago and didn't buy one because they were so expensive. It is just gorgeous. It doesn't have a thing wrong with it except a tiny scratch on the wood frame. At the time, I thought it was such a good deal, but no, I didn't even think of buying it because I just bought a new house. So, I was so surprised to see it in Brooke's living room! At first I thought Bryan had bought it for Brooke. LOL! Then I realized that Gary had gone back and got it for me!

My daughter got me a new light fixture for my hall. Mom gave me money for a new rug for the living room.

We had a wonderful Christmas. We pared down and didn't get everyone as much as usual and we all declared it was much nicer and not so overwhelming!

After we opened our presents yesterday, we fixed biscuits (homemade) and sausage gravy and scrambled eggs. That is our traditional Christmas morning breakfast. Then we went to an Italian restaurant at 4:00 for dinner. It was very good, different though, and Gary was not too sure about Italian on Christmas.

Here's some pictures of my curio cabinet. Sorry the pictures are so grainy. The lighting is not very good in my living room and I don't have a flash on my phone. Of course, the camera is put away, and I didn't take time to dig it out!

Gayle...your cabinet is beautiful. I've seen some like that and always thought it would be nice to have one. What a great surprise for you!

I rec'd two CD's, a blanket and a Red Lobster gift card. It was a different kind of Christmas for us but nice. With Mom being in and out of the hospital I really didn't do a lot of shopping. Ricky got our pre-lit tree put up the day before Christmas, but we didn't get it decorated nor did we ever plug it in..lol. We didn't even wrap our gifts. An hour after exchanging gifts...we were taking Mom to the emergency room. Not a real fun Christmas, but a memorable one.

Your cabinet is just beautiful Gayle!!
I got a "perfect brownie pan". A comfy outfit from Mom, a real cute winter picture from my son (we drew names this year) a really nice Kathy Van Zealand purse from my step daughter, and an electric skillet from Mom and several things that were made by my sister and brother with pictures of my Dad..those are priceless!!
