Glad that everything turned out okay! I haven't had to get one of these yet but I dread the day I do. I heard they really hurt.

One thing worse than a mammogram, being in a mammo machine and having a needle inserted in your boob for a needle directed biopsy. That was not fun.
Anyone had a digital mammogram done? I'm anxious to find out what that is like. My next is scheduled for late January, and it will be digital. So glad everything turned out well for you!!!!

So glad everything was good with your mammogram!!!
I just hate those darn things. My boobs are so little that they have to pull the darn things out to get them smashed in that machine. I too hope to have the digital done the next time.

I have a friend that had a whole list of things that you could do to get ready for a mamogram that was so funny, but this is the only one that I can remember. They were really funny!!

To practice for having a mamogram just go outside and lay in the driveway on your side, then have your husband back the car over one boob. That should get you ready!! LOL!!
Ya! that's a good way to discribe it!!LOL! I have never heard of a digital mammogram....what is that? Thanks everyone! I'm glad it came out good too!

Yep! I have had a digital done. It is really cool. Actually there is no difference. Your boob still gets flattened like a pancake.
With a digital the lady doing the mammo gets to see it right there in the room on the computer screen. If you are like me you can be nosey as hell and run over (boob flapping in the wind) and ask to see it. It is rather cool looking. ALSO if you tech has been doing this for a long time they can usually tell you if they see any areas of possible concern. I have been having mammos for so long it isn't even funny(since I was 21). So for me they are no big deal. Glad to hear your mammo came out good!

Oh this is just so comforting to read! I've been putting off having a mammo but recently I noticed a small lump. My gyno thinks it's just normal breast tissue but I'm going Monday for a mammo just to be sure. I can't wait now!

Carolyn I don't know where you go for your mamo, I go to the womens center at Riverview Hospital in Redbank. They are excellent there , I went for my yearly visit a few weeks ago and they have upgraded their equipment to ditigal which is better for they say it works like the ditigal camera. I have calcium deposits so I have to go once a year. Don't put off your visit I am sure its nothing but keep abreast of things...dont punt intended lol Good luck and try the womens center... |

Digital is supposed to show things that the film mammo's don't. They believe they will be able to detect problems sooner. Sure hope so!! I'd try to go where digital is available if they can arrange it.
Hope it turns out to be nothing!!
