I was looking back at some old threads and saw the one about us all getting together on a cruise. I know for some of us...me included..I don't know if that could be in my budget.

Are we ever going to try and get together? I want to meet all of you so bad. I've met Diana and I love her soooo much. I'm hoping to get to visit her this summer after the puppies are gone. It would be so nice if there was some way for all of us or at least most of us could get together.

I think we were looking for the cruise to be in 2011 but couldn't we find some way to meet sooner? Of course there will be always something in someone's way...like for me...the puppies. But hopefully they'll be in their new homes by the end of July. We start school August 31 this year due to some construction going on at the school. Maybe I'm wanting to rush it...I don't know. :)

You know that I am always ready for a meet up!!! Just name the time and place and I'll be there!!!

Mike and I are going to Wisconsin to get a puppy from Tink around Aug 24th. What are the chances that we could meet a day or 2 before that Janet and Diana?

A meetup sounds good. I'm available in late August. Would have to be on a weekend. I don't have any vacation left. I could fly Friday evening and return Sunday evening.

Hi all from Alaska. I would love to meet up with all of you too. I'm thinking maybe Kansas would be a central place for some of us. Of course, not for Lindsay :(

My school starts about 25th of Aug. But I could get away a fri, sat, sun, mon most any weekend.

You're all welcome to meet here or at a local town if that works for everyone.......or anywhere else you decide. We could meet at KC or Wichita....Tulsa or Joplin.....I don't know if Joplin has much of an airport if you want to fly in.

I can find hotels for us all. KC has a really neat museum where a sunken steamship was dug up and all of the artifacts were in really good shape. I've heard that it's very interesting to see.

Just let me know what you intend to do!!! Or let me know where we're going!!! I'll be there!!!!

That would be a crazy weekend for me. We will just be back from a vacation, but if that's the weekend that works for everyone else, I'm in.

Okay, I'm a bit confused....There's a Kansas City, Kansas and a Kansas City, Missouri. Are they basically the same town sitting on the border of the two states or what? If I fly in, just want to make sure I'm in the correct city.:p

Where does Diana live? All I know is Kansas, lol!

I'm in. My sister in law lives in KC. I can fly in and rent a car to meet in Kansas city or drive to fredonia.

We are in Anchorage tonight. Vacation almost over. It's been wonderful! So nice to finally have wifi that actually works.

I live in southeast Kansas.....about 3 hours away from KC (Kansas City has one half on one side of the river and the other half on the other side of the river which makes it in two states......same city)

You can fly into Wichita which would be closest......1 1/2 hour or Tulsa which is 2 hours away. I can get a camper or two for all of you to stay in plus my two guest rooms so husbands can come along. We have a pond right beside our driveway, Gayle, so your husband and any others can fish!!

I'll warn you that there's not a lot to do around here but I'll show you what we have and we can visit and EAT!!!! I would love to have everyone here!!!!

Anyplace is fine with me Diana. I hate for you to go to so much trouble though. Is there a motel somewhere? Mike will definitely be with me, but we can entertain him easy enough, lol! He's even good at entertaining himself! I can't believe this is working out so easily!!

Oh yes Diana. A motel would be great. I think Gary is coming with me so we would be just peachy in a motel. I don't want you to be stressed out at all. And it does not have to be a fancy motel. We love little country hotels/motels. We are not fancy folks at all!

Let me see what I can get worked out before you rent rooms. Amy lives right near us and Feyn is down the road so we could put some there......As I said....let me work on it and see what I can come up with first!!!

Hi all! I haven't been on in a couple of days, so I didn't know about the date.

I probably won't be able to come. Other than the $800 I owe the IRS, my car died today on the highway! (transmission problems) I am hoping that the dealership pays for the repairs because I have a 90 day warranty, and I bought it on 3/18.
I am going to have my mechanic tow it over to his place tomorrow and say that it broke down on the 15th. I hope it works! It will, but I will have to pay for towing, and I don't quite trust their warranty to pay for everything.

Other than that, I would have to bring the dogs, and they are expensive to fly.
I won't leave them at Jessie's house. They still have the malamutes.

You girls will have a blast!!! Please take lots of pix:D I'm kindda in the same boat as Judy. I have four yorkies and it would cost alot to fly them. I checked mapquest today and to drive would be 14 hours from where I live. :(

Sorry Judy and Paula! I know you would be there if it was at all possible. We'll take lots of pictures.

Judy, you'll have your car fixed soon and maybe something will work out so you can come!! I'm so sorry that it broke down on you....that's not fun and something that you never plan on happening. I hope you weren't stranded. I just hate that.

Paula, You've got to try and come too!! It just won't be the same if you two aren't here too!!! Just leave hubby to take care of the dogs!!!

Maybe you could both hop in with Janet and come!!!! After you get here it won't cost anything so it's just transportation!!!

I never thought of driving, but I just checked and it's a 23 hour drive. Darn:(

My only option budget-wise would be driving. Any flights from here to anywhere in the US always connect in Denver or Minneapolis so it's a little extra flying and a lot more expensive... it would end up being at least $1500 for me to fly alone, and I just can't afford that right now. Unfortunately, it's also a 23 hour drive and since I'm taking some vacation in a couple of weeks, I can't really afford to take more vacation time either. Plus Scott would need time off too because I wouldn't feel comfortable driving alone all the way! :(

I really wish I could make it but I hope you all have fun without me!

What if you drove to Janet's and came with her? You could share expenses to get here then.

Oh, Lindsey, I was so hoping you could make it!! I wanted Glen to meet our "Baby". I've talked about you so much and I refer to you as the "Baby" of the group!!! It's still a couple of months away so maybe something will work out. Fingers are crossed!!!

I know for sure Rex won't be able to come. He may be coming back from California that weekend. Karen has to be back for college by August 20th, and we don't feel it is safe for her to drive so far alone. Someone will need to ride out with her and fly back. I just don't have the time off.

I'm really not sure how things will work out. The timing is going to be very tight for us. Hopefully I can still make it. Rex says if I want to go to go, but he has a habit of changing his mind when he realizes how complex the scheduling will be.

Will keep you posted. Can't wait to meet you all in person!!!! Missing the last meetup was such a disappointment.

Hope everyone can come, and Diana, please don't go to a huge amount of trouble. I'm sure there is an economical motel/hotel nearby.
