Special plans?
Does anyone have any special plans for the Fourth of July?
We have a friend from church that lives right by where our community shoots off their fireworks and he always invites a large crowd to come over for a cookout and to watch the fireworks so we plan on being there. I'm hoping that Glen will take off and go but he's so busy that I don't know for sure if he will. That night Dae Lynn and Damon are planning on staying with us. They're planning on watching the fireworks from a hill near our house. Damon fought in Iraq and the sound of the fireworks bring back really bad memories for him. I guess last year he really had some trouble so they're going to stay out here where it's nice and quiet. I'm excited about them staying!!!

Sounds like you'll have a good time. My MIL and 2 SIL and a niece will be coming up on Friday. Going to do some fishing, go to our parade in town and that evening watch the fireworks here in town. Then come home. Company will leave some time on Sunday. Hope everyone has a safe holiday weekend.

We are going to spend the weekend staying cool
Seriously - we don't have any plans, although I'm sure we'll cook something good - maybe fried chichen (I only cook it about once a year) and take it up to the rehab center and eat with my mom.

We were talking about inviting some friends over for a cookout and games, but haven't actually finalized any plans. We're making a road trip together today, so maybe we can figure out what if anything we will be doing. Don't know if our town is having the fireworks or not, due to everything being so terribly dry.
Perhaps we'll just do a last minute thing and call some friends on Friday and tell them if they are free and would like to come, we're cooking.

Looks like all the kiddos will be with us Saturday (except Jonathan, who's in Iraq). Hubby's cooking mudbugs and brisket. I'll have all the inside cooking to do. I found a recipe for Strawberry Margarita Pie that I'll be making tonight. It's a Sandra Lee recipe that looks/sounds great. Of course, I'll be doubling the tequila.
You all have a wonderful weekend.

From our house...we can see firewords from all over. We do usually drive a little closer to town so we can see the fireworks better, but not sure what we'll be doing. Nothing big. We are suppose to have thunderstorms Sat. and Sun.
