The vet gave Gucci Capstar one pill yesterday and she is to take another tomorrow. But after I gave her the first she threw up about 20 min. later. I also put frontline on her... Cannot give her a bath for three days. ugh.. Today I started Termaril P I have to give a half tablet in morning and another at night for 4 days. Then I have a smaller dose to follow for the rest. She said this is for the itching and will relieve it...

Gayle I will try the dawn liq. when I can bath her over the weekend. thanks for that info.. Diana I will keep that pill in mind hopefully she doesn't need it again...

Janet count yourself lucky! I am going to vacuum for awhile you don't know me.. I hate anything that crawls.. lol I do have all hardwood floors and ceramic so I am a little relieved to hear this Gayle..

Thanks ladies your the best!!

Gina I wander if Capstar and the Frontline mixed may have made her sick? Just wandering. I'm assuming the Capstar is for fleas. I've never heard of it, but thank goodness we've never had a problem with them. Like Gayle said, Dawn is supposed to do the trick. My sister uses it on her Yorkie when fleas get on her.

No Paula good thought but I gave her the pill when we came back from vet. She had her distemper shot and was excited in office.Could have been a combo of her aniexty. The frontline was given to her last night a few hrs. later... I hate giving her all this stuff and I am happy you girls told me about Dawn detergent. Will buy and give her a bath on Sat. then from now on I will bathe her in that. I wouldnt even know she had a flea if it were not for her scratching. Like I mentioned the vet only found one.. thank God..

I am just a city girl who freaks out here in the surburbs lol Thanks for the responses...

I grew up on the farm, so fleas or anything that crawls doesn't bother me much.

Gary and I had to go to my daughter's last night - there was a tarantula crawling on her driveway in the morning when she went out to take Abigail to school. Abigail ran in the house and got a bug keeper box and caught the tarantula. (yes, she loves bugs, she has a lizard in an aquarium in her room). My daughter took her to school and then called me to say she was nauseated because there was a tarantula sitting on her driveway and I told her she was a WUSS! Then Gary and I had to go over in the evening to take Abigail and the tarantula to the pasture so she could let it go because my daughter wouldn't put it in her car, even in the bug carrier!!! Turns out it wasn't even a big tarantula, it was probably a teenager! My daughter claims that a tarantula chased her in the garden when she was 6 years old. I think her memories are greatly exaggerated!

The only time I have had fleas in the house was when I had two indoor persian cats who never went outside. I guess we brought the fleas in on our pants and the cats got them and they got in the carpet (that we had at the time). We did have to have someone come out and put stuff on the carpet to get rid of the fleas. Now I keep beneficial nematods on the yard and no more fleas!

There is a very good chance that she only had the one flea and was allergic to the flea bite. Hope she's doing better now.
