Farming

Today was a great day. I love to just watch farmers out in the fields harvesting.
This has got to be my favorite time of year. I had so much fun with my youngest
daughter today. Her eyes just lite up when she go into that big green machine.
It just put me in a super mood. When my hubby gets the pics down loaded I'll post them on here. I can't wait.

I love farming too. The smells, the sights, all of it.

We just love it when all the neighbors are in the field too. We have fields on all four sides. Love to hear the grain dryers running....the whole bit. I love it in the country!!

Watching my Amish neighbors in the fields takes me back in time. I love watching them!

My husband is a farmer and he's been short handed this year so last month I had to help drive the combine and, later on, the tractor. There are so many levers in a combine!! A tractor is so much easier to run then the combine, but they both are soooo big to be driving around.

Farming is an interesting occupation and a great way to raise kids. I just wish there was more money in it. This year we've had a drought and, I think that my husband hasn't told me how bad things really are yet. It's tough because every year is different. It always depends on what kind of weather we've had.

God bless all farmers! We had chicken houses, cows, and hay until my husband died, and I know the hours that go into it. I work for an organization that makes loans to farmers so I know the money involved when things don't go right.

I don't think most Americans appreciate the time, effort, sweat and yes, tears that go into farming. There's nothing like the smell of a freshly cut hayfield!

What kind of organization do you work for if you don't mind me asking? I was the Adminstrative Assistant in the county SWCD office and it was right next door to the Farm Service Agency. Farmers are the best people!!!!
