I tried freezing blueberries, my all time favorite fruit. They were much too mushy and watery when I thawed them out. Any ideas?

I've been told to freeze berries by placing them in one layer on a cookie sheet - not touching each other - in the freezer till frozen solid and then putting them frozen into a freezer bag. I have never tried blueberries - but that technique works for blackberries - they come out of the freezer great. You can just freeze cranberries in the bag - but not fresh berries.
