You had a really BUSY Valentine Day Diana! I'm so glad everything went so well!

Yes, the cold sores are due to stress, exacerbated by the cold windy weather. You need to get some Abreva or Zovirax cream or if they are really bad, Zovirax capsules. These are all prescription meds.

Abreva is a non-prescription cream that is supposed to work pretty well.

I've been using the Abreva and it's doing nothing for me this time. Dae Lynn mentioned the Zovarix this morning and recommended that I call my doctor. I may try that. Thanks, Gayle.

I haven't had a fever sore in a long time...hope it stays that way. I don't remember liking it too well. Hope they heal fast Diana.

I could never use any of the creams either. I keep a prescription of Zovirax at all times, even when I travel, because if I don't jump on them at the first sign, mine will be horrid and huge!

I can keep them from even breaking through, if I can get a Zovirax down before they break out. I can "feel" them coming on before the blisters actually break through, if I'm paying attention.

I never did get the prescription but kept using the Abreva. It finally started working. The fever sore is finally going away. Actually, I had one on my top lip and......one on my bottom lip!!

I have to be careful in the summer because if I stay out in the sun without sunscreen on my lips......my whole bottom lip breaks out in fever sores. Kinda' like being sunburned but much, much worse. Dae Lynn has problems with this too. Talk about miserable!!!
