Thank Paula! And Happy Valentine's Day to you too - and to everyone else!!!

Gary and I went out to breakfast and then we had to go to the store while he looked for a card for me - there's nothing like last minute shopping! LOL! It was OK cuz I needed to get some flowers for my mom.

We came home and opened our cards - we already gave each other our gifts last week. Gary got me a beautiful turquoise necklace and earrings and I got him a hand carved wooded box. The gifts were for Valentines Day and our anniversary which is next Saturday.

We will just vegetate the rest of the afternoon, then we are going to our daughter's for dinner with the whole family.

It will be a good day!

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you!

I had a lovely day. I went over to Jessie's with my red bag of goodies. I had gone into a discount store on Thursday and bought candy and whatnot for great prices! Jessie had the table all set up with pretty bags for everybody (also from the discount store), and we all opened our gifts. Of course Kassidy decided that Brandon got better presents than her, and she cried. Mackenzie kept making remarks about how Jessie doesn't really love her, and always tells her how bad she is. Brandon didn't feel well and took his bag upstairs. Jessie really has the patience of a saint! I think Mackenzie does that when I'm there because she can tell on her mother! There just isn't enough attention in the entire universe for Kassidy at this age, and Brandon doesn't want to be stressed out by all of us females. Neither does Steve!

I really enjoyed being with them. Jessie and I actually had about 30 minutes to ourselves to just chat! I love my discount store gifts, and I got a lovely card
from Jessie.

It sounds like you had a great day! We did too.

Your stories about the kids reminded me of two sisters that play on our University women's basketball team. They are so close, it is so obvious that they really love each other and are best friends. They also seem to adore their parents. I follow their twitter page and so have even more insight into their lives.

The other day they were on a local radio show and were talking about how much they hated each other and their parents in middle school. I thought OMG! You would never know it now as they are so close and such great friends. I am also acquainted with their mom and she is just a lovely lady.

I think middle school and sometimes grade school is just so stressful that kids are mightily unhappy. You know that too, Judy, and I know you are not overly concerned. But your Valentine Day story reminded me of the Nash sisters story!

We had our care group last night and it went really well. We had 13 adults and 6 kids......we were expecting more but it ended up that they didn't come. I tried to make it special since it was Valentine's day. We set up tables in the living room and had the dining room table decorated. I had red table cloths on and we ate by candlelight. I put a dvd of a fire place in so the tv looked like a fireplace. That's where almost everyone wanted to eat!! Glen did most of my cooking for me because I was so busy cleaning and straightening and everything was absolutely delicious!! We had pork loin with greek seasoning, potato hashbrown casserole, green beans with almonds, strawberry-pretzel jello, homemade rolls, and 3 different deserts!!

After we ate Amy lead a Bible study. She did a really good job!! It was a good evening but I'm really glad that it's over. I get so stressed out. This morning when I woke up I have several fever sores that have broke out.....I think that it's from stress. Bummer!!!!

Oh....I did get a Valentine......one little boy named Kellen, had made a Valentine at church that had a sucker attached. His Mother said that she asked if it was for her or his Dad and Kellen told them it was for someone special......and he gave it to me!!!! He's in my Royal Ranger class and I've taught him in Sunday School as well. He made me feel really special!!! He also gave me a Valentine last year!!! He's a real sweetie!!!!

You had a really BUSY Valentine Day Diana! I'm so glad everything went so well!

Yes, the cold sores are due to stress, exacerbated by the cold windy weather. You need to get some Abreva or Zovirax cream or if they are really bad, Zovirax capsules. These are all prescription meds.

Abreva is a non-prescription cream that is supposed to work pretty well.

I've been using the Abreva and it's doing nothing for me this time. Dae Lynn mentioned the Zovarix this morning and recommended that I call my doctor. I may try that. Thanks, Gayle.

I could never use any of the creams either. I keep a prescription of Zovirax at all times, even when I travel, because if I don't jump on them at the first sign, mine will be horrid and huge!

I can keep them from even breaking through, if I can get a Zovirax down before they break out. I can "feel" them coming on before the blisters actually break through, if I'm paying attention.

I never did get the prescription but kept using the Abreva. It finally started working. The fever sore is finally going away. Actually, I had one on my top lip and......one on my bottom lip!!

I have to be careful in the summer because if I stay out in the sun without sunscreen on my lips......my whole bottom lip breaks out in fever sores. Kinda' like being sunburned but much, much worse. Dae Lynn has problems with this too. Talk about miserable!!!
