Have her try a sample area first. I would suggest her first time be on a Friday night, so if there is any kind of reaction, she won't be embarassed to go to school.

My situation is kind of similiar. My 15 year old son just started shaving early summer. Doesn't need to all the time, but it's just another sign he is growning up even more. This is hard on us mothers how did our mothers do it?

this is so touching lol but my mom helped me shave my legs for the first time on mothers day i think i was 12 because i was wearing shorts and it just bothered me that day and we were going to a family party so she sat me on the toilet in my shorts and showed me how to do it as she was crying because i was becoming a woman it makes me a little teary eyed looking back and thinking about it. As for me no girls Thank goodness lol!

I haven't read all the posts but I think I would explain to her that just because other girls do doesn't mean that she might be ready to. If during your discussion you feel she actually has a need to shave I'd let her. If not then there is really no sense to let her yet.
My girls are totally different and developed differently. Therefore they started doing things at different ages. One started her period at 10!!!! the other at 13, but that's another topic. Growing up is hard. ![]() |

since i'm a little younger.. i actually started my period when i was 10 and also started shaving then as well. too freakin bad my boobs didn't really develop then too! lol
but just don't let your daughter do what i did.. because of peer pressure, plus where i lived and a tthe time it was totally in.. i shaved my eyebrows off in the 6th grade.. i was 11 but im going to be 21 and its still hasn't grown back the way it used to be... i think the veet system is awesome ![]() ![]() |

I just thought of something, but don't know if it will work.....when I started shaving my legs I started with a razor with a blade. We didn't have the disposalable then, so cuts and razor burns were done easily. Maybe an electric razor would work for her first time...has anyone used one for their first time?
