My Very First Bus Flat Tire
On this afternoon route I was going down this gravel road and heard the loudest pop I think I've ever heard. My right front tire blew out...scared the bejeebies out of me. Anyway....I took some pictures with my phone and thought I'd share them.....

So what happened? Did they bring a new bus to get the kids to school? Did you have to stay with your bus till they fixed the tire?

They brought be another bus to finish my route with. The tire guy came and fixed it and the Transportation Director took it back to the bus garage. I get to pick it up for this afternoon route.
I made a mistake...this is my second flat tire on the bus. First one was a few years back taking a field trip to the Indianapolis Zoo. Had a flat on the rear, but since there are double tires...I made it to the zoo and the tire guy fixed it there.

I'm glad you have such immediate help when you need it. I bet it scared you and the kids, too!

That 'pop' when the tire blew sure did scare me. Wasn't sure if it was a gun or just what it was till the bus started to lean...lol.

I know you had a scare but I'm glad nobody got hurt.
A week ago my car stop in mid freeway barely had time to cross it to the side. And I live in a big city with lots of traffic. So scary. |

That WAS scary....especially since it was a front tire!!! I'm so glad that everything worked out so well on getting the kids home and the tire taken care of.

Janet,
Glad it wasn't anything more serious. Keep on driving....

Thanks all...I'm just glad I was only going 40 on a gravel road and not 55 on a highway.
